“This is your fault!” The unknown man screamed, taking steps toward her. “You killed my sister!”
As the man approached, the shock and adrenaline from the fight began to wear off, burning off like a dying flame. Pain replaced every gap.
Exhaustion beat her form, unable to keep herself upright as the world spun around her. The red on her fur stood out startlingly against her white and grey colors.
Rain looked up at the man, intending to do or say something. But she was still exhausted to speak, too confused to defend herself when she didn’t even know what she had done.
Enraged, the man screamed out.
“I’ll kill you!”
He shifted into a wolf and this time, there was nothing to stop him from ripping her throat out.
She's tired. Tired of fighting, of starving, of begging.
Most of all, she's tired of living.
Rain shut her eyes, body limp as she prepared for her own death.
But it never came.
“HARLAN!”
He shouted the name with such force that the ground seemed to shake.
