Chapter 19: Hypocritical

“What on earth were you thinking?” Liana scolded her daughter. Accalia shrunk back from her mother’s gaze.

“You disobeyed your brother, your Alpha, you snuck in a criminal to a hospital and even helped her feed a dangerous substance to a sick child! What do you have to say for yourself?” Liana shouted.

“Rain isn’t a criminal!” Accalia protested, defiant even under the guise of her mother’s harsh glare. “She didn’t hurt him. I know she-”

“Accalia!” Orion snapped, stepping in. “Go home.”

“But-”

Orion sent her a menacing glare. Accalia looked at her brother and with her head down, she scurried away.

Rain watched as her only ally left with a sad heart. She glanced up at Orion, whose gaze hadn’t met hers since they broke open the door. As wolves had come flooding in, they grabbed her and shoved her the ground by warriors.

Dr. Lewis had rushed to Ronan, who had fallen limp and silent, calling the staff for help as Liana and Orion argued with Accalia.
