To Love An Alpha

I race towards the border, without looking back at the house. Daniel has likely finished getting ready to leave with me. Presently, the mother has told him what I did. He's now undoubtedly waiting for my return, to give me a piece of his mind.

Sorry, Dan. But I'm keeping you safe. Taking him with me to the border might cause more harm than good, and I can't have that. He recently woke up, I can't send him back to that land.

My beta to be, and a few of the elders of my pack were standing next to the said border when I arrived. At the sight of me, they created a space, while bowing to show their respect to the Alpha.

"What's it? What happened?" I ask the Beta that called me out.

He pointed to the still fresh footprints on the floor. From the looks of it, it seems the person to whom the footprints belonged, came from the pack.

"What's wrong with the footprints?"
