Almost Caught

"You know, I would have left you there, so you see what good training is," David said when we came out from the training ground.

"Thank you."

"What?" David turned to me, surprised. "You thanked me? The sun must have risen from the South."

"Stop making it seem like I'm ungrateful. I'm anything but that. There's no way I'm that ungrateful."

"But the Dan I know would have tried to find a way to make me feel guilty for taking him to the training ground."

I roll my eyes at him.

"I don't want to think about that. But you have made me recall something important. If anyone should be blamed for how I'm walking, you should be the one. I never asked to go to the pack's training ground. You took me there, on your own. And watched Carl drag me off, but you did nothing about that. Instead, you watched them take me. So, tell me now, who should feel guilty among us?"
