Her eyes teared to see the man fall. As she looked through her wet eyes, two men dragged him into the forest. 'What the hell is happening here?' she cried. "What's that TAKEN CARE OF guy doing?" she growled and went inside.
Lili was worried about the victim. She was also frightened to yell and tell everyone about the murder. She didn't want the criminal to know that she witnessed the horrific scene and put herself in danger. The things currently going on in her life were enough to make her go mad.
She wished she could go out of the room to tell someone. But she didn't understand if she had the liberty of walking around the house. She stamped her foot, realizing that she didn't even have her mobile. As far as she could remember, she gave her mobile to Bella. But both Bel and her mobile disappeared after the wedding.
She wanted to vent out the scene that she viewed, but there was none! Left with nothing to do, she punched the bed and sat in the gloomy room.
Glancing at the room again, Lili felt that the room could make any normal person depressed. She tried every way to forget the murder and divert her mind, but what could she think in such a gloomy and lifeless room? Instead of happy memories, all the sad memories and pains came flashing, which increased her pain.
Her brain started conflicting and fighting due to sleep deprivation.
'My body is tired. I need sleep.'
'No! You should inform Niklaus about the murder.'
'Fine!! Then go, search, tell him and sleep fast.'
'I don't know where he is in this vast house. I also don't want to be caught by that nasty Elizabeth or the prankster Justin.'
'So, Sleep now. You can tell him tomorrow.'
'Sleep!! How am I supposed to rest after witnessing a murder?'
'Argh!'
Lili started shaking her legs and slapping her cheeks to prevent herself from slipping to sleep. If not for that murder, she wouldn't want that weird and arrogant guy in the same room. And she, of course, wouldn't be struggling to avoid sleeping.
Every second was like a year to her. Her eyes were pleading to rest, and her body begged her to sleep. Slowly, the sleep requirement took over the need to be awake. She started swinging in her sleep after a few minutes. With half-closed eyes, slightly opened mouth, and rotating head, she looked like a ghost with hair falling on her face.
Somewhere around midnight, Niklaus entered the room and jumped at the same spot to see Lili. 'What is she doing?' He was puzzled and tiptoed to her. With the index finger, he carefully tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. His eyes and ears brightened to see Lili drooling in sleep. "Cute!" he thought to himself.
'But why is she sleeping this way? She couldn't have slept peacefully and comfortably on the bed. Didn't she like the bed? Will it be okay if I carry her and make her sleep properly? What if she wakes up in between and gets angry? But I can't let her sleep this way? Is she scared to be with me in the same room?' Nik couldn't choose which option would be better.
He took two steps back, maintained his posture and called her. "Liliya! Liliya!" He felt a pinch of rudeness in her voice. "Sleep Properly!" There wasn't any response from her. "Liliya!" he yelled this time.
"Ha! Yes! Present!" She stood up immediately and raised her right hand.
Nik pursed his lips and controlled his smile.
Before he could utter a word, Lili stopped him and asked him to listen first. "I saw…" she fumbled and then halted to see the same shaped diamond buttons on his suit. Her eyes widened and legs involuntarily took a step back. Color drained out of her face, on releasing that the man she married wasn't a normal businessperson.
She wanted to stay calm and be unnoticed, but how could she? Her body was already conveying many things- her chest was rising and falling with rapid breaths, palm was sweating, and face turned pale. 'Calm down! You don't want to die, right? Calm down, please!' Lili told herself. 'I married a murderer!' she cried and recalled Justin's words. Maybe he was telling the truth? Just by the thought that Niklaus killing a girl too, made her heart race again.
"Do you have anything to say?" Nik asked with a straight face.
Lili wanted to say 'NO', but she wasn't able to open her mouth. She finally responded by shaking her head from side to side. Standing two feet away from a criminal was running the hell out of her. 'You can be scared, worried, or frightened inside. But, never show it out! Be bold! Be strong!' she told herself her life quote.
"Fine! If you have nothing, go back to sleep."
Lili instantly gave a slight nod.
Nik walked away while unbuttoning his wedding suit, wearing which he killed a person. "You can sleep on the bed. I will sleep on the sofa. You don't have to be scared of me!" he said while removing his suit.
Lila again nodded, forgetting that she was facing his back.
"You can respond!" Nik shouted in a sharp and scary tone.
'Does he want me not to be scared by yelling?' She mummed, feeling that her words were precious to be wasted on a murderer.
"Good! Now, Sleep!" he commanded and went into the washroom.
She felt as if God was playing a game with her. In order to escape from one problem, she married and fell into a much more dangerous one. The only thing she would be happy about was Niklaus not forcing himself on her. She finally found a positive point in the whole sick situation but could help with the questions piling in her head.
'Why did he marry me? Where is his mother? Why is his family living in this abandoned area? Why did he kill a girl? Why did he kill that man? Why isn't he forcing me to sleep with him like any other man would do? Why is he kind towards me in public and rash in private? What is he planning?'
Hearing the bathroom door close, she jumped on the bed and closed her eyes.
"Aren't you going to ask me about the murder?"
