Guardian Knight saves Liliya

"Why isn't the calming spell working on her?" Alice tensed, closed her eyes and began murmuring. Nik stayed at a safe distance and watched her wrist and the glass piece with almost no gap in between.

Lili slit her wrist and blood drops dripped on the floor. Niklaus rushed to her and before he could reach her, the water creature appeared beside her.

Nik at once halted to see the Guardian Knight.

The blue-eyed creature lifted its hand, moved it towards Lili. But before it could catch her, Lili stepped back. "Who are you?" Without any response, it moved towards Lili, and she again stepped backward. "I will not let you save me. Answer me! Who are you?"

"I am your Guardian Knight!" the creature responded in a hoarse voice.

Lili's heart pumped hard to hear the man's voice coming from the water. Without showing a blink of fear on her face, she blurted out her question, "So, Am I really a witch?"

"Yes!"

"Is it true that my parents are not Andrew and Sophie?"

While Lili was least concerned about the loss of blood behind her, Nik was worried about seeing the small red pool. 'Can't this guardian knight do any other magic apart from disappearing and appearing?'

The water man stood there without replying, and in the next second, he vanished.

"Leave me!" Lili shouted and started shrugging, as if someone was holding her hand.

"What happened, now?" Nik cried. He looked at his mom, who was still closing and murmuring. He groaned and ran towards Lili. But before he reached Lili, who was just a few steps away, she suddenly freed her hand.

Both of them opened their mouths wide open to see the slit on her wrist disappear. "How…. How did it cure?" Nik stammered to see wet Lili's hand with no traces of cut.

"He escaped without answering me." Lili hissed while grinding her teeth. Unlike Nik, she was least concerned about the blood loss and what would have happened if not been saved by the waterman.

As the couple was taking time to digest what had just happened, Alice stopped reading and opened her eyes wide. She looked tense and small droplets of sweat formed over her forehead. Staring at Lili, she gulped hard and stopped breathing.

After a minute, she dropped her shoulder, wept the sweat and took a deep breath. "Looks like the Guardian knight did his job. So, do you at least believe now that you are a witch?" Alice calmed herself and walked to Lili.

"Sorry, I am not! The Guardian knight is the witch. It is he, who healed me." She arched her brow and raised a lip corner. Liliya chose not to believe anything unless she saw it with her own eyes.

Alice pursed her lips and grinned at the stubborn little girl in front of her. "Well! I can't prove that because you..." she paused and bit her bottom lip. "But I can tell you about how your father adopted you and maybe also let you know from his mouth itself."

Niklaus, who was standing in between them, took the heat between his mother and wife. His hazel eyeballs were dancing as each of them threw satirical comments.

"I don't think your son will allow." Lili glared at Nik and his mother did the same.

"Tomorrow we are going to the Meyers."

"What?" Niklaus looked shocked. He didn't understand why the two ladies dragged him in between their cat fight. "I don't want to go, and I have no interest in knowing about Liliya's parents. She is my wife, and that's her identity."

Hearing that, Lili rolled her eyes. 'Only when someone is there, you respect and treat me like your wife.' She started to get disgusted by the two-faced husband. 'If at all, your lovely Beau was a girl, I wouldn't be involved in all this stuff.' With her lips pointing downwards, she looked at Nik to see the way he would pour out all the fake love.

"I don't like the way her father treats her. It isn't safe for her, over there."

His mother surprisingly gave a wide smile. "Just like you said, she is your wife. Do you think her father could mistreat Mr. Cooper's wife? I don't think so!"

Lili's heart danced with joy. She was excited to visit her room, her safe and favourite place. She was not at all bothered about the reason Alice was interested, but all that she cared was that she was going home. With her round black, she glanced at her so-called husband to hear a 'YES' or see at least a nod.

Nik looked at the ladies, one with a glare and the other with cute and eager eyes. He bit her inner bottom lip and finally said, "YES!"

Lili at once screamed and danced like a little girl. Niklaus' lips widened to see Lili enjoying. Though he had seen her smile and happiness secretly, but never he saw her smile wholeheartedly since their marriage. The fact that a single word from him could brighten his girl was a thousand times better than cracking a tough deal.

As Liliya completed her style of enjoyment, she blinked her eyes at the weird smile and stared at her. "Hello!" she waved her palm before Nik, who coughed and looked down.

"We will start tomorrow. You must be tired, have food and sleep. Maa! I will go to the nearby network area, have something to check on!" he murmured and raced out.

"God!" he huffed as he reached out of the house. "Idiot! Control yourself! You can't touch her unless she allows!" he slapped his cheek, but his brain seemed to play Liliya's dance. His eyes brightened, mouth dried and his lips raised, his stomach flattered, and body warmed.

"Child! Are you fine?" a witch passing by asked with a smirk.

Nik came back from the trance, closed his mouth and gave a slight nod with embarrassment. As he was about to jump inside the car, the lady in the black gown turned back. "Child, Be safe!" The naughty grin on her face got replaced with sadness and words sounded a warning and danger.
