Summoning up courage

Three hours after Madison left the house, Chloe was still seated, or rather, she was lying in the same spot. She wasn’t reading her book any longer, but was just lying on the sofa with the book on her stomach and watching the television, even though she did not really register what was going on in it. She had never let herself get caught up in this kind of situation with a man. Usually, she preferred that anyone whom she was seeing was a hundred percent available and not attached to anyone else or have anyone else who was attached to him emotionally. Ethan’s case was even worse. He was attached to his late fiancée, even though she had been dead for more than three years now. As though that was not bad enough, he had this crazy and beautiful woman who was obsessed with him and would not just leave him alone. Madison, she could deal with, after all, it was very clear that Ethan did not even like her and she was delusional, but how was he supposed to compete with his late fiancée?
