Chapter 23

I threw him his trunks and he put them on as I went behind the car and changed back into my clothes.

It was hard getting the jeans on at first because my legs were humid but somehow I managed to do it. I left his tank top in the trunk and pulled out one of the few sweatshirts that were there.

When I went back on the beach, Nate was just tying his shoelaces.

He pulled it on and walked past me towards the car.

“Nate, wait.” I said and managed to grip in the back of his sweatshirt to make him stop.

He turned around, seeming annoyed.

“I’m sorry for what I said earlier, I didn’t mean to offend you.”

“It’s alright. You’re right. I sleep around all the time.”

He smirked cockily, but it didn’t reach his eyes. They were sad and tired.

“Nate.” I spoke knowingly, crossing my arms over my chest.

“What?”

“You’re acting all cocky and stuff now.”
