Sora stood strong, eyes glowing as he stared down the demon possessed priest. His body felt more energized than it had ever felt. It was as if a dam had burst in him.
It was then that he realized what exactly happened. His acceptance of the powers as his and his acceptance of his identity was the final step in progressing with the template.
Added to that, he also felt stronger both physically and chakra-wise. His body's strength and speed had easily doubled as his power grew stronger.
'I have the perfect guinea pig to test this power on.' He thought as he flexed his hands a bit to get used to the feeling.
"Stay back." He said firmly to the girl who stiffened at his attention but nodded.
"Be careful. Demons like him draw their power from their masters. With his master gone h-"
"He has no source of energy. He's then forced to feed off the energy of people and stay alive. Without the host being the power source, he can't stay out too long. Is that right?" He asked her, keeping his eyes on the wary Abbadon.
"Y-yes." She answered shakily, both from his presence and deduction.
"From what I can see, he's intimately intertwined with the priest's body." He added as an afterthought.
"Intimately intertwined…?" She was confused for a moment before she had a look of realization.
"The bonds with the hosts are usually temporary but you weakened him to the point that he was forced to permanently bond with that body."
"With the priest dead, he can only use the remnants of his body's energy. Sooner or later the body will give out on it's own." She concluded, getting a nod from him.
"That makes my job a lot easier." He said as he tensed his body in preparation, neglecting to mention the small spark of life energy in the priest's body.
'It seems like Hiruko was never really dead. He was only presumed dead due to the demon's influence on his mind and body. It makes sense when you think about it.'
'Why would he allow his energy source to die? Finding others to possess would only give credibility to the priest's claims so he was stuck with him.' He pondered as his knife appeared in his palm.
"Enough talk! I'll kill you both where you stand in the name of my lord!!!" Abbadon screamed as he aimed his palm behind him, shooting himself in the air towards the duo.
"Move!" He called out to the girl behind him as the priest approached at high speed. She muttered something incoherent behind him as a a blue bubble appeared, covering them both.
"Die in the name of Lord Aamon!!!" He screamed in a crazed manner as he pointed his free hand towards them, as a telekinetic force pressed against the bubble.
Sora hid his surprise well as he thought of his next form of action. He went through hand seals at high speed.
"Drop the shield!" He ordered the girl who let her outstretched hands fall as the shield disappeared.
'Fire Style: Dragon Fire Jutsu!' He intoned internally as he spewed a stream of fire in the shape of a dragon from his mouth.
His eyes widened a bit at the power behind the technique. The heat behind it was higher than what he had done so far.
The dragon shaped fire blasted forward, blowing through whatever force Abbadon put up, crashing and exploded into him.
The blast sent him back into the wall but Sora wasn't done yet. He let out another stream of dragon shaped fire at the priest whose body was now embedded in the human shaped hole in the cathedral wall.
The blast of fire exploded on impact with Abbadon and his surroundings. The walls around the hole that held Abbadon had now turned to molted piles of magma due to the intensity of the flames.
Abbadon himself was covered in burns as the piles of magma poured on his skin. He had a look of intense pain as he felt pain unlike any other.
"I'm not knowledgeable on demon physiology but the human body can only take so much heat before the brain gets irreparably damaged." Sora said, watching as the magma finally burnt passed the layer of magic that was protecting the priest's body.
"No matter how strong you grow, as long as you inhabit that body, you'll forever be subject to its limits and weaknesses."
"Regret that you are now bound to a host as I send you to meet your master." He finished as his sharingan eyes bore into the demon's own red eyes.
Somehow, his sharingan seemed more menacing of the two red orbs at the moment. He leaped into the air holding two knives in each hand. With nothing but a flick of his wrist, all four of them flew out of his hands.
He raised his arm weakly to repel the knives but the chakra coating the flying knives cut through the weak pressure, the knives meeting their mark in his head and chest.
"AAAAHHHHHH!!!!" Abbadon let out a distorted roar as black smoke rolled off the body of the priest's bleeding body.
"You'll pay for this!!! You'll pay!!!" He screamed as the last of the smoke dissipated in the air.
With that, it was over.
There was no movement from the body for a few moments. The cathedral was silent as the only sound that could be heard was Sora's low breathing. His sharingan was still activated, making sure that Abbadon was completely gone.
"You…you killed him…" The girl whose presence he had momentarily forgotten about said in a shocked whisper.
"He was already dead long before Abbadon possessed him. It was only right to let his body rest as well." Sora said as the red bled out of his eyes as they returned to their original black color.
"Y-yeah right." She answered in a distracted manner.
Sora stayed silent before walking towards the dead body with an impassive look on his face. The magma had begun to dry up and solidify but the bones of the corpse were visible.
"Now that I think about it, I never got your name." He said questioningly, noticing her distracted state.
"You know, you're supposed to give your name before asking for someone else's name." She commented, gaining a bit of color to her face as well as vigor.
Seeing that he stayed silent, choosing not to answer her implied question, she spoke with a sigh.
"I'm Zatanna."
At that moment, Sora was happy that he wasn't facing her direction. He wasn't able to keep a calm face at the familiar name. Different thoughts raced through his head before they ended with a single thought.
'Shit!'
