June Verrier was only a B-list actor shortchanged by his agency. He was only supposed to be a person rebelling against his old boss. How did he end up entangled in the affairs of the demons? No matter. Whatever came his way—be it a goon, an arrogant director, or a demon overlord—was dealt with precision. What was there to fear when he had become a devil’s darling?

This also prompted Reed to slip the documents back inside his bag and join the crowd around the bed. "Say, if it's something that fights what we saw that night, then… big, buff angel dudes with nothing but wings, right?"

June wanted to make them step away from the bed, but his words lost their sound when Kale spoke. The suffocating alarm of having those guys surround and trap him was extinguished in a few words, leaving only smoke of annoyance. His lips pursed as if asking Kale to take the moment to regret what he just said. However, the despicable actor added to June's ire.
