June Verrier was only a B-list actor shortchanged by his agency. He was only supposed to be a person rebelling against his old boss. How did he end up entangled in the affairs of the demons? No matter. Whatever came his way—be it a goon, an arrogant director, or a demon overlord—was dealt with precision. What was there to fear when he had become a devil’s darling?

The dreaded sound of the heart machine echoed against June's ears again, and he couldn't believe that he had yet to resent it. It even felt like he had heard this noise too much for someone who didn't even work anywhere close to a hospital. However, he was told that the chances of things going haywire were too low… even for the hypothermia-stricken Tony or the stabbed Britney.

Since June waited for the hospital to assure him and Mr. Skylar that Tony was already in a good condition, it took them an hour to find Britney in her recovery ward. Mr. Skylar already had Tony in his arms, wrapped in a thick blanket to combat the cool rooms of the building.

"June!" Brent wheezed when he saw them enter the ward. He gasped softly and whispered with his father about Tony and the nurses' reminders. He also went to whisper things to Britney in case she got nightmares from losing her baby.
