Chapter 27

"Just keep walking!" Asiris declared, as his legs were sleeping themselves.

They've been walking for an hour straight where even the other group haven't even radioed in a long time.

Micah was not only feeling pain in his legs, but in his feet too.

He collapsed, screaming in pain and affliction to where Caville rushed to him.

"Are you okay?" she asked, as she stared at the foot. She took it off quickly, including his socks and saw something very red, glaring red.

"He has a blister," she said, looking at Asiris. He started thinking, and quickly came up with the plan to pick him up.

"I'll carry him."

"Are you sure?" she asked.

"Yes, I am very sure," Asiris said confidently. "Help me pick him up."

She did, starting with digging into his back and picking him up, resting on his shoulder.

As they were doing that, they heard an engine—a very loud engine.

They all focused their attention to the sound, which they could tell was coming close.

Suddenly, a Jeep was moving at great speed, with very blurry identifications of Peter and them.

"Run!!!" Peter screamed.

As Asiris looked towards their whereabouts, he saw a big row of cars, with machine rifles stationed on mirrors.

"Run!!!" Asiris screamed.

They both started speeding away from them, which their vehicles were gaining closer.

"Who are they?" Caville shouted, bringing out her radio.

"How am I supposed to know?" Asiris complained.

"Come on, let's go!" Caville ordered, rushing towards the Jeep.

They came across a bunch of bushes which were really barricading the way.

Asiris vaulted over them, side-stepping each obstacle with Micah bouncing in his shoulder.

Then, to make matters worse, the bullets started reporting.

"Come on, keep running!" Caville yelled, pulling Asiris's arm.

They needed to catch Xavier and them, including dodging people who wanted to kill them for some apparent reason.

They started to get towards them to where their screams were perceivable.

Peter was the first to hear.

"Stop!" he ordered, as the ranger immediately stopped, allowing them in.

"Okay, go-go-go!" Asiris legislated, as the Jeep went into full speed.

The car was now being pursued to seem to be a group of survivors or something.

"Is the prisoner okay?" he asked. The three nodded as the prisoner was sleeping peacefully, surprising everyone. But, that was the least to worry about at this moment, because they were being gained on.

Caville got out her pistol quickly with no time to waste, firing relentlessly at the cars.

One of the pistols achieved its goal, depressurizing the tires of one of them.

Being that it was on the front, it completely obstructed the other cars, which they immediately rammed into it.

"Well, she shoots better than me," Vienne complemented.

The car found itself on its side, sliding until its momentum was lowered to its extent.

They were lucky in a very delicate case, because the warehouse was very close to them.

Vienne, first to notice, shouted, "Look, the warehouse!" Everyone looked at the warehouse. "We need to lose them!" Peter shouted. Caville continued shooting, but her shots were ricocheting off the paint.

Vienne wasn't so sure about her targeting anymore. "Okay, how about we juke them?" Xavier asked, getting annoyed by the relentless yelling.

"Well, make sure we don't fall then!" Asiris said, clutching onto the car.

Now was the time to think, which he came up with an idea. He could go faster, making them go faster—then immediately swerve to a different direction—making the weight unbalanced and they tip over.

So he began his effectuation, although not explaining.

He pushed the pedal, increasing the speed of the car to a very lengthy extent.

"What are you doing?" Micah asked. "I don't think going faster is juking!"

But Xavier didn't listen. He kept going, driving, pushing the pedal to where it almost broke.

The warehouse was now a lot closer than before. Now, it was time.

He pressed the brake immediately, ducking to the side of the forest.

"Whoa!" they all shouted, as Vienne almost tripped over.

"Help!" she shouted hysterically, being that she was inches from the ground.

Luckily, Asiris was able to grab her before she hit the ground.

But now the bullets were spraying towards her. Asiris knew this, so he tried his best to pick her up, but her fingers were forcefully sealed on the car.

"Help!" she shrieked, gradually letting go.

When she finally released her fingers, she sprung up—pushing them back inside the car.

The plan worked—barely. Few of the cars were misled, but many were still behind them.

And to make matters worse, a complete roadblock was in front of them.

Immediately, Xavier pulled on the brake, making everyone's head thrust forward.

Click*

The immediate click of the automatics quickly got the group with their hands up.

"Get down on the ground!" one of them yelled, being the only one clear out of all the shouting.

They got on their knees, which most were surrendering, but Asiris was going to do a surprise attack.

But before that could happen, someone screamed—which he was a lot more clearer.

Straightway, the silence returned. Curiously, the group turned—looking at a man with side-wave hair with an armored shirt and pants.

He held what Micah could identify as a carbine, worrying him they were going to be shot to death by this stranger.

But that wasn't so, in fact—he asked, "Aren't these the Heathers?"

"Umm, I don't know sir."

The man shrugged, then he came mysteriously towards them, then crouched into their level.

"Do you guys know the names of the princes?" he asked. It was quite ironic, being that the princes were literally there.

"We're the princes," Micah said. "I'm Micah, and this is my brother Peter."

After that response, the eyes widened considerably as they immediately retreated to their guns.

"Chai!" someone called out in a weird African accent. "We were shooting at the prince."

"Well no need to worry," the man, who was still kneeling, said. "They should know we are allies."

"Allies of who?" Micah hissed.

"You guys, don't you know that?"

"So, you guys are the Hemorrians?"

"Yes," he cried, with a very low chuckle. "Now, how about we transport you to our kingdom—just so that you're safe." "No, we're trying to find the Heather Eye, so we can stop the Ikes."

"Well, good luck with General Stricker," the man said. "Who's General Stricker?" Asiris asked.

"The man that has been attacking our kingdom, because he knows we may be weaker with no allies."

"Well, we can stop this—if you can help us."

The man shrugged distrustingly. "Well, it depends on what the king said, but for now, let us take you there."

Finally, he got up from his crouching position, gesturing to the cars to pick them up.

With the prisoner still sleeping, Asiris quickly shouted. "Hey!"

The man stopped abruptly.

"Let us go to the warehouse," he said. "We need to question him."

"Okay, get them to the warehouse," the man ordered, after a moment to think about it.

They got into the cars, which then they got escorted to the warehouse.

They were all in the same car, although due to the lack of space—one of them had to be in the trunk.
