Chapter 40: Familiar Footsteps

Arisara

The last time I was down in the palace prison was when I helped Anurak escape...what was it...four years ago now? I always knew it existed before that, though. My father held a lot of political prisoners here—rebels, revolutionaries, dissidents—which certainly wasn’t ethical, but it fell in line with what other powerful packs did. The prison camps were an entirely different level of tyranny I didn’t expect from my father. Perhaps, I should have. After all, he wedded me to that monster, Prayut.

Which, I shouldn’t even call him by that name anymore. Beta Mee Noi told me that my husband’s name is really Jiro. I just wonder what the last part of the story was that my Beta wasn’t able to tell us.
