My mate’s body, it was flaring up, and not because of some allergic reaction.


Fiery embers were forming along her skin the color of molten lava. It seemed she was completely unaware of the infernal rash that was spreading down her arms. Even Beta Lalisa, who was standing right next to her, didn’t seem to find anything amiss. 


I wondered why until I saw my Beta’s gaze transfixed on a menacing threat lurking in the near distance: an onyx-colored wolf with lethal emerald eyes. It was gaining ground on my mate, and she had her back turned to the wolf.


“Arisara, watch out!” I screamed, but feared it was too late. I wasn’t in my wolf form yet, and she was quite the distance away from me. Beta Lalisa also wasn’t in any state to fight. I couldn’t make out where Dtengmo and her brother, Kun Khosit, were either.
