Chapter 29: King of the Castle

Micah

My parent’s house is palatial. Opulent isn’t even the right word. It’s like a freaking castle. When he built it a few years ago, he said it was for two reasons. First of all, I needed to have the traditional Alpha’s house, the one that the Alphas have lived in for years. Secondly, my mother deserved a home worthy of a queen. I knew that my mom didn’t even want a house like that, but my dad said if some guy in India could build the Tajmahal for his wife, he could build this house for his.

I walk inside, careful not to lose my footing on the slick marble floors. The light from the ten thousand dollar chandelier gleams down on me.

Hmmm, I wonder where all of the money has gone.

Before I headed over here, I checked with the accountant, and there was no record of us owing any money to Alpha Wilson, but looking around my parents’ house, I have to wonder, who else do we owe money to?
