As the Alpha of Midnight Moon, my first priority is protecting my pack, not finding my mate. So when we are threatened by Dark Eclipse pack, my goal is to keep the threat away. After Eli leaves, I continue to stare at the television, but my mind is somewhere else.


I want to stand outside of her room and call to her, either using the mind-link or just our mate bond, and see her come to the window. When she sees my face, her smile will light the night sky, and she’ll be as drawn to me as I am to her. She’ll come down, and I’ll wrap my arms around her, holding her close. Then… I’ll taste her lips, and the two of us will go back to my place, and I’ll claim her as my own….


Except I won’t do any of that because I’ve already made up my mind that I’m not going to act on any of that….


Sighing, I get up off of the couch, deciding to just go to bed, when I see a flicker of movement outside of my door and pause.
