As the Alpha of Midnight Moon, my first priority is protecting my pack, not finding my mate. So when we are threatened by Dark Eclipse pack, my goal is to keep the threat away. “Alex, what’s happening!” I scream at my friend through the mind-link. “Please don’t tell me you attacked before I got there!”


He doesn’t answer me right away, and that tells me I need to go even faster, somehow. I’ve already left our village now, jumping in the closest vehicle and driving away with any and every wolf who would leap inside the back, as I hurl myself out of town and closer to Arcadia.


Patrick has stayed behind to call together as many troops as he can, and Zariah’s father is doing his best, but I can’t wait for him, especially not when Alex has already given me a head’s up that Alpha Kradick has brought Zariah out into the open. That has to mean he’s using her as bait, and if Alex doesn’t answer me soon, I’ll know for certain that means that he has fallen for it.
