Chapter 74: A Flash of Red

*Micah*

The snow is thick and packed, but we continue to tear over it as quickly as we can toward the sounds of fighting in the distance. Howls, snarls, and growls echo over the mountainside. I know that my warriors are outnumbered, and Alpha Kradick probably won’t fight fair either. We have to get there as quickly as we can.

I’m in the lead, running uphill over the mountain that Alex had told me he had my advance troops situated on. I’d told him not to move, but he hadn’t listened to me for whatever reason. Now, everyone is too busy fighting to check in via the mind-link to let me know what is going on, and I don’t want to disturb them anyway.

Zariah is the only one I am tempted to reach out to. I want to find her with my mind and see if she’s okay. The strength to run this fast after the exhausting day I’ve had is all fueled by the pull of my mate bond. I know that she is in trouble, so it doesn’t matter how exhausted my muscles are, I will keep climbing.
