Chapter 38: Tracked Down

Hallie’s POV

It’s the next morning and I still haven’t heard from River. No text, no phone call, and not even a knock at my door. Nothing. It’s radio silent on his end and it’s making the twinge in I felt in my heart last night even stronger.

There must be something wrong with River. There is no way he would go this long without contacting me in some way. Whenever he’s been busy, he would always find a way to shoot me a quick text to say he’s busy and to have a great day. Without fail. So, this is very unlike him and it has me feeling uneasy.

I barely got a wink of sleep last night because I had this nagging feeling that something was going on, but there was nothing I could do about it as I lay in bed staring up at the ceiling. I didn’t know who to call or track down to see if they knew where River was. I know of his friend Nate, but I wouldn’t know where to start in getting in contact with him.
