Chapter 50: A Mysterious Man

Hallie’s POV

*6 Months Later*

Rain pelts against my red umbrella as I walk to grab coffee with Abby. The warm summer months have quickly turned into spring and now the beginning of winter. Although it feels as though the last six months have flown by, every single day has been slow and torturous for me.

“What a miserable day,” Abby comments as the coffee shop comes into view. We had to find a new place to get coffee from because I refused to visit the store by my dorm or the one near the stadium on campus. It was too much for me.

“I like it,” I say softly as shove my hands into the pocket of my denim jacket and inhale slowly. “There is something soothing in the way rain hits a surface and the sounds it makes. I enjoy it.”

We pull our umbrellas down and enter the coffee shop. The heat inside the store is on full blast and I have to take my jacket off in fear that I might fry to death. We stand by the front counter as the woman takes our order.
