Chapter 38

By Friday, Gabby was almost convinced absolutely nothing romantic had happened between her and Flynn. Apparently having made his decision to keep them in the friend zone, he'd returned to an almost normal routine, leaving her not only a little disappointed, but frustrated, too.

They'd had two clinic days this week and three on the road for home visits. Everything had been in sync. Other than catching him watching her every so often, they'd talked as usual and had worked well together. Same old, same old. She'd promised him nothing would change between them, no matter what. She'd given him a choice, and he'd made his, if his behavior was any indication.

So why was her stomach in a perpetual state of spin-cycle and why was there this strange hollow ache behind her ribs? She'd gotten what she'd asked of him. She couldn't have it both ways.
