0.5 A Blind Date Proposal

"Sir?"

"Sir?"

Jared finally snapped out of his midday daze after he heard someone calling him out.

"Yeah?" he looked up from the coffee on the table.

"Here are the documents you asked for," the worker said.

"Thank you, you can drop it there," Jared said with a nod.

The worker dropped the file on the desk before he walked out of the office.

Jared sighed as he picked up the file from the table and opened it to take a vague look at it, though he knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate.

It was really weird, you know? How you just meet someone for just a day and then you were suddenly thinking of them without being able to get anything right again.

Ever since they parted, Jared hasn't been able to get the fearless, outspoken blonde diva he met last night. He kept on replaying their interactions over and over again, and the more he realized who she was, the more he was left mesmerized.

He had no idea that the owner of the best-selling cosmetics group and owner of thousands of popular and luxurious hotels(he spent all night, searching about her) could be so free, bubbly, and hot. Not to talk of his father's greatest rival in the industry.

Even though he hadn't been deeply involved in his father's business, he always made sure to keep updated on news and headlines regarding the business so he knew a few about the Jatropesh family.

He did recall seeing her in a few magazines but he never thought she would turn out to be a goddess in human form. Now, he might be exaggerating a little too much but he couldn't stop thinking about her, no matter how hard he tried, and frankly, he didn't want to stop.

As he blinked into reality, he saw a face, just a few inches away from him which made him jump back a little with shock.

"Ha! Got ya!" the young man laughed as he hit his knee, almost falling down from the amusement of scaring his friend.

"Trevor, you moron, what a nice way to greet your friend who just came back home," Jared held his chest with a slight glare, directed at his friend.

"Woah, man, looks like all that studying has made you all weak. I've literally been standing here, watching you but you didn't notice, hell, you barely blinked," Trevor laughed.

Trevor was a tall young man in his twenties, with lean muscles covered with his sandy brown dress shirt matched with black casual pants. His chocolate bouncy hair which always covered his brown droopy eyes were the key to making ladies fall at his feet, added with his signature killer smile, he was a sight to behold.

Jared and Trevor had been friends since elementary school when their parents partnered for a business deal and they remained close friends during high school and even after Jared traveled out to further his studies, they remained close buddies.

"Having girl problems?" Trevor wiggled his eyebrow at him playfully.

"Don't even get started, Trevor, I have work to do," Jared shook his head as he turned his eyes to the papers on his desk.

"Seriously? I came to visit my best bud after studies took him away from me for five years and he pushes me off cuz' of some work? Wow, a cruel world indeed," Trevor sniffed dramatically.

Jared rolled his eyes. His best friend always knew how to play a drama, he wondered why he didn't go for theatre, he would have made it more than on business.

"Come on, Trev, don't be like that, you know I missed your crazy head," Jared sighed as he stood up from his chair.

"Then act like it, dummy!" Trevor pulled him in for a hug and they both laughed.

"How has your life been, man? Wait, are you here for good now?" Trevor asked.

"No, I actually just came to supervise a project Dad is going to be launching in Asia, I will be heading it so I need to be here before we can run it," Jared said.

"Ah, that sucks, we really need to hang out often then. Like every single day!" Trevor let out.

"Calm down, buddy, I can barely handle you for an hour so let's cut that out," Jared joked.

"Like you even mean that," Trevor scoffed.

"What do you say? Let's go out for a drink and talk about old times, huh?" Trevor hit Jared's chest.

"What? A drink at ten in the morning? What are you going through? Did she break your heart again?" Jared asked, referring to Trevor's long-time girlfriend.

"No, we haven't fought in like weeks which gives me the nerves but we're cool. How about some coffee then?" He suggested.

"Sure, why not?" Jared shrugged.

The boys headed off to the cafe they normally visited when they wanted to have a good coffee.

"I know right!" Trevor yelled before his high-pitched laughter followed right away.

"It's really nice to talk to you again. I missed this," Jared said with a smile.

"Yeah, speaking of old times, you remember that time when you broke your father's car and I took the blame because we knew your Dad won't be mad with me?" Trevor said.

"Yeah, yeah, of course, I do. That night was probably the last time I ever partied that hard, I nearly lost an arm," Jared laughed.

"Yeah, do you also remember when you promised you would do anything I ask of you when the time came?" Trevor asked.

"Yeah...what about it?" Jared didn't like where this conversation was headed.

"It's time to repay my favor, bud. I need you to go on a blind date for me," Trevor said.

Just at that moment, a loud sound was heard as a glass cup dropped on the floor, shattering its pieces all over the place.
