"You do know she is engaged, right?" Freda said to Jared while they were still at the dining table. 

"Good God," Ariana gritted under her breath with slight agitation.

"Yes, I do and I have met her fiance too. He was quite the charm," Jared replied.

Though, he never liked me since the day we met.

"I see, so do you have any plans of stealing her from Derek soon?" Freda inquired which made Jared a bit flustered.

His eyes widened a bit at her direct and blunt question. Why was she asking him this?

He turned to Ariana who was only glaring at Freda.

"Cat got your tongue? Why can't you answer?" Freda tilted her head as she stared at him.

He might be wrong but he thought she was amused by making him slightly uncomfortable with her questions.

"Uhm, I don't see why you should be asking me that, ma'am," Jared let out.

"And I don't see why I shouldn't?" She threw back at him with a raised eyebrow.
