A Suicidal Brainiac 04

"Professor Xiu, did you add something on the sugar?" Fei yang felt like his daily questions starting today will be if Xiu Lin 'added' something in everything he will consume.

He stared at his coffee cup that morning fully equipped with his high ranked uniform. The intricate gold lines of his black uniform traced the outlines of his body that looked strong inside out.

Xiu Lin, who was nibbling on a carrot while lying lazily on the couch looked at the man who was drinking the cup of coffee beside him. "I thought I'd try to add flowery scent to the sugar so that I could relax. But it ended up tasting bittersweet." he responded lazily as if he didn't do anything wrong.

"It does smell... fragrant." Fei Yang praised. Breaking a cold sweat as he endured the bitter taste in his mouth.

But he knew, this is not the end of Xiu Lin's experimentation. He only hopes that this little guy wouldn't casually add poison to the edible things he's consuming in daily life.

The other day, Xiu Lin experimented on Fei Yang's coffee. A formula that turned it into a concentrated chocolate bar. Fei Yang did not notice and ate one small piece. The result kept him awake an entire night and brain active that he exercised nonstop. He ended up unable to lift a muscle the next day.

Wait, that's worrisome... Fei Yang shot a glance towards the young man who was busily nibbling on a carrot.

"There's no side effect on this sugar, right?" he decided to ask.

Xiu Lin looked at him and shrugged. "It's a sleeping agent." he replied. "I saw how you didn't sleep the other night. So I made a sleeping agent."

"What?"

Fei Yang needs to go to work today...

He wanted to ask for the chocolate again.

But not passing a few minutes, he fell asleep on the couch unable to even say a word.

Xiu Lin felt bad. 'I should have told him earlier...'

[Why did you not?] The system asked.

'Because I was lazy to open my mouth. Earlier.'

[Host... his job isn't something to sleep off of... He is a general...]

'I know. That's why I feel bad.' he replied. 'Should I send him off with a robot?'

System: [...]

[Host... you do realize that he's asleep, right?]

'Yeah. But he needs to go to work.'

[How will he work if he's asleep?]

'Then he'll figure it out when he wakes up.'

[Host, I think it's better to just let him be.] The system suggested.

Xiu Lin did not listen to the system's advise.

Fei Yang was sent to the headquarters via delivery.

Du Jin was laughing his ass of when he received their general in a form of a package that he collapsed on the ground unable to restrain himself. His wheezing could be heard all the way to the corridors. And the news of their general being sent in a box spread out to the entire base in the same hour making quite a joke as hours go by.

The Xiu siblings looked at their boss as well who was sleeping in a large fragile parcel box like a person inside a coffin. With his eyes closed, a piece of couch pillow on the back of his head and a piece of paper on the side of his head saying: "Needed at work." surrounded by air wraps which parcels uses on fragile items to avoid them from breaking when being delivered.

They could already imagine the faces of those delivery personels who were stacking the general into a large package to be sent to the headquarters.

Xiu Zuo's cheeks puffed as to avoid laughing out loud. Xiu Hao covered his lips and let out a snort.

Sending him in a form of package is actually easier than sending him by a cab since someone else will carry him from home until he was properly delivered.

Xiu Lin is really smart.

To think he can actually have such a great idea outside the box. Their cute little brother...

Half a day later, Fei Yang finally woke up. When he opened his eyes, he could see a familiar ceiling. But the ceiling was not his house which made him a little confused.

He grunted, sitting up and noticed the 'bed' he was lying in made up of hard wood... like a coffin.

What joke is this?

"The general is awake." Xiu Hao's lazy voice sounded, making Fei Yang abruptly turn his head towards the owner of the voice seeing Xiu Hao leaning on the sleeping Xiu Zuo's shoulder. He obviously just woke up.

"What happened?" Fei Yang stood up and left the coffin package. "What's this?"

"Ask my little brother." Xiu Hao yawned.

"Professor Xiu?" Fei Yang remembered the sugar added with sleeping agent.

"Oh, general! Just in time." Du Jin entered the office and saw their boss standing up with a bed hair making him remember earlier's events and started to laugh out loud.

Fei Yang frowned at him, watching the ever happy Du Jin collapse on the ground punching the floor and holding his stomach as he laughed out loud.

"What happened to you?" Fei Yang could only ask in confusion.

"What happened to me? No, boss, what actually happened to YOU?" Du Jin kept laughing.

"What do you mean? And what is this." He pointed to the box he was laying down on.

Xiu Zuo yawned and stretched. "Boss, you were delivered here." he explained.

"What?" the confused general looked at them still not understanding the situation.

"Little Lin sent you here." Hao explained.

"He did?" Would that lazy kid even spare a moment to carry him to get a flying cab? Besides, with his weak body, could he even lift his hand?

"Yeah!" Du Jin finally calmed down but there was a smile on his face, still amused. "He sent you here via express delivery."

"What?" Slowly, everything were coming to pieces to Fei Yang. He looked down on the rectangular box where he was fit in and to the words they used such as 'delivered' and 'sent'. Xiu Lin sent him not by a cab but he called an express delivery because there are bigger people who can stack him in a box and send him straight away without so much effort as to only open the door for the delivery men to take him away.

Fei Yang didn't know how to express his feelings right now. He felt complicated but surprisingly, he didn't feel mad at all.

He did felt a little betrayed. He felt like this was silly. He felt that Xiu Lin is cleverly cute. He felt that Xiu Lin is really someone he shouldn't have underestimated... Or else he'll experience something worse being sent by an express delivery.

But he knew in his heart... he just knew... that everything that Xiu Lin might do to him in the future, he will forgive it.

"Did you have a good sleep?" Du Jin asked teasingly, elbowing his superior's side with a toothy grin.

Fei Yang eyed him seriously. "It seems like you're still asleep." He said seriously.

"What? Boss, I'm fully awake!"

"To think you'll mistake me, your superior, as you're buddy during work hours." He said coldly. Du Jin staggered back, letting out a cold sweat as he looked back at the general. "50 laps."

"Wait boss, it's still--"

"100 laps, don't let me repeat myself."

"Boss, it's still lunch break~" Xiu Zuo sang, throwing the cushions of the sofa towards the parcel box and collapsed inside. When Xiu Hao saw it, he also dove into the box and squeezed with his younger brother. "So you have no authority for the meantime, b-o-s-s~"

Du Jin looking at the coffin like parcel with shining eyes towards his little savior. "Xiao Zuo-Zuo, my little darling dear angel, what do you want for dinner?"

"Hao ge and I wants the newly invented temperature bed version 4.0.2."

"I said dinner!"

"But we barely eat dinner. Evening is for sleeping." Xiu Zuo countered lazily.

"Then breakfast! Breakfast!"

"Then this weeks breakfast, Hao ge and I will send you what you will bring every morning."

A week of breakfast means a week of bankruptcy. But Du Jin decided to give in. He will only suffer this week. Fat tears escaped his eyes as he turned around. "Boss, can I still accept the 50 laps?"

"You had your chance." Fei Yang Left the room heartlessly, leaving the three on their own.

It was a good thing that he woke up before the lunch break ended, or else, he'll miss an important meeting. His face became even colder as he thought about the incoming topic. After seventeen years, the alliance wages war once more. The alliance that was once the root of chaos in order to dominate the intergalactic populace.

Eversince the empire left the alliance, the remaining powers that kept it standing began to raise up rank by forcibly putting other planets under their leash. But under the empire's surveillance, they wouldn't rashly do it. They infiltrate the planet on the inside, slowly fill it up with their people little by little and conquer.

"Once it reaches the empire's ears, it will all be too late. In accordance to the intergalactic law, once a will is signed between nations to merge, the empire will have no valid right to interfere." Xiu Lin, who was sitting on the window ledge hummed while gazing up the night skies. "Weren't it the same alliance who kidnapped me to do that deadly weapons in the original plot?"

[Yes host. They're the one who cut your tongue and plucked out your brain.]

"1204, do you think that if the war breaks out, I'll die?"

[It's a possibility, host. But under the male lead's halo, I think you don't have to necessarily worry.] The system bragged.

'Then, let's go have a tour to the Alliance's next target and die there?' Xiu Lin happily clapped his hands. 'According to how the alliance is moving, the probability of them taking over the solitary planet of Sur is quite high. It has all requirements to be taken over. They are most likely sitting ducks in front of an alligator field!'

[Host, please just do your mission...] 1204 deadpanned.

'Why would you force me to do something very strenuous? Wouldn't dying for my self interest be better than working for the interest of someone else?'

[Did host really got depressed after failing three worlds? You're not the host I know anymore!]

'Yeah, I got so depressed that living is pointless. Now shut up and follow me to the light.'

Xiu Lin got back inside the house while listening to the crying system in his mind. Ninety six world more and he can finally rest in peace.
