Third in the World

When I was eight, my mom sold me to a man. Ever since then, my life had gone through drastic changes. Under the pressures of life, I started to take a path I could never return from. Back then, everyone called me the female top gun. Among us girls, no one else was able to receive such treatment. Many of my patrons had asked me why a nice young lady like myself decided to go down such a path. I always told them that life forced me to do what I do and they would call me pretentious behind my back. However, I really had no choice. After all, I didn’t want to die.

Back When I Was the Female Top Gun

I hurriedly got up and stopped Anna, then said to her, "Sister Anna, I wanted to do this myself. I don't want to be a person who only knows how to eat. I want to help my mother."

Anna looked at me with a complicated expression and said, "Hai, poor child, you're really sensible. Don't blame your mother for throwing you into Instructor Liu's house for so many years. She also has her reasons, but I'm certain that your mother still loves you very much."

I felt that Anna seemed to know a lot about my mother. Then, I couldn't help but want to ask about my mother. I asked, "Sister Anna, what's my mother's attitude towards me? Why do I feel that she's sometimes nice to me but mean to me at other times?"

"Then let me come to your place to eat tonight. I'll buy the vegetables and you'll cook." Anna wanted to exchange her information for a meal.
