Her rejection

Stacy scoffed. "That's unexpected," she said. Xander still stared at her and she knew he wanted answers. "I don't know how to put it or how to make my statement not sound bad but you loving me is ridiculous and totally unacceptable. I mean, why on Earth will I love you back? You are a vampire Xander. Which girl will wanna be your mate?" She asked him. "Only if she has a death wish" Stacy kind of chuckled.

Xander swallowed it all, she was right, loving her was ridiculous but it was okay if she didn't love him back even though it hurt him so much to hear her say those words to him but hey! He wasn't new to feeling pain, it was just like an addition to his misery.

"I know," he said. "Being a vampire. . .No one can like me. . .which is okay" he tried not to look into her eyes 'cause he might tear up, the pain was unbearable. The fact that she never loved him or care and that she called his love ridiculous hurt deep into the depth of his soul.

"You deserve more than this so let's forget I ever mentioned those statements"

"Good"

Xander nodded. "Are you taking the surgery then? I can give you the money"

Stacy eyed him. "No, I don't need your money. I'll work for it"

She rejected him probably because he was a vampire. Not just pain, anger suffused him greatly. "Nice painting anyway" she looked that way and with that Stacy left his room.

Xander blinked as if processing everything that just happened in his head. He did it again, he loved someone too much and ended up getting hurt. He gently went to his incomplete painting and pick the brush. He was painting a big frame of her face on his wall. The curtains covered it so no one could see it.

Xander continued the painting and didn't know when he teared up. "It hurts so much" he gripped his shirt and lowered his head. The last time he cried was when he was 12 which means she hurt him deeply.

Dinner time came, and Stacy came to call him for dinner. He did go to the dining room and sat. Stacy sat across from him. "What are we eating?" He asked forcing that smile.

"Can't you see" she scolded him and he looked down at the pot. Oh! Stacy served and because she was on her phone she spilt some.

While eating, he stared at her intensely, with thoughts. When she sensed his gaze and turned, he looked away immediately. And then. "How were the holidays?" He asked. "Was it fun?"

Stacy did something on her phone before replying. "It was interesting, and fun and memorable," she told him.

"You saw the crackers and stars and the magnificent views of the sky right?" he asked.

"Who wouldn't?" Stacy replied. "Except the person who stayed inside his or her house", she mocked him.

Xander swallowed hard and drank water. Stacy has changed, this was why he never wanted her to leave him. "You were not here so it was boring," he told her about him.

"What are you trying to say, Xander? I told you I wanted it with my family not with some vampire and besides it's gone already why blabbing about the past?" She frowned at him but when her phone beeped. Stacy smiled.

Xander only stared and "I'm no longer hungry, you've spoiled my mood," she told him before dropping her cutleries and leaving with her phone in her hand.

Xander played with his food in thoughts, he missed Stacy. "Jerk" he heard her call someone that on the phone and he got crushed. He hates himself. He wished he was human. Xander felt like killing himself but how would he?

When he finished dinner which he forced into his stomach, he arranged the dishes and washed them. That would stop his mind from wandering. Xander decided to do some chores to get him busy. The pain was something he should avoid.

It felt like he was shot a million times in the chest and because it didn't damage his heart they brought it out and quashed it without mercy. Stacy had killed and made him lose his spirit.

Whenever she wakes up, she found her work done. Sometimes, she finds Xander cutting grasses and fetching berries and many fruits from his garden. He felt like working, that was what would come up in her mind.

Then one day, Xander was busy with the bushes when Stacy went to the gate to meet someone. And that person turned out to be a man. To Xander's shock, he kissed her cheek and toyed with her hair. He tried to listen to their conversation and found out that the man stole his place.

Stacy replaced him because he wasn't human. Xander swallowed and took in a deep breath, it felt like his heart would explode and he felt like shouting while crying but, he continued with his cutting even when his mind was still on Stacy.
