It was extremely unfortunate that they reached the hotel past midnight. After all, they had to stop at the hospital and stitch Nate's wounds first.

Not that they had a problem with paying for a new booking – considering Nate was rich as hell. It was just that the hotel could not serve any meals for them.

"We are so sorry, sir, but we only offer dinner between 7 and 11 pm," the receptionist told them gently, though Keira could not help but note the lingering, suspicious look she sent toward Nate.

It was the first time a woman looked at him that way, hence why Keira took notice of it. The mafia lord surely attracted attention from his surroundings with his dashing handsomeness and immaculate three-piece suit, not suspicion.

Keira instinctively shuffled her feet, shifting closer until her body was against him and part of her was shielding the stark red blotch on the makeshift bandage around his arm.
