End X of X Exams

"Motherfucker…" looking in front of me with my hand that was outstretched parallel to the floor in contrast to the other hand that was opposite to mine, which was forming a pair of scissors with two fingers.

'Why did I even try? It just feels like a waste of time at this point… even if I won the game he probably wouldn't have forfeited, and while I hate losing I hate wasting time and energy on pointless things when I could be doing something else… ' ignoring the excited cheering of Gon and maybe a couple of cheerful shouts from the handful of contestants that were actually interested in our "fight" I look over at the referee and pause for a moment before finally declaring my loss in the match. Afterward, I walked back to the sidelines and began spectating the following rounds in silence. Not out of interest for the matches, mostly due to how subpar they all are, most people who got here have higher potential than actual strength. And while there are a few outliers such as Hisoka and Illumi who are trained Nen Fighters and Bodoro who was too old and didn't have much future potential for growth most of the candidates were just eccentric individuals who had a smattering of combat-related skills compared to the more refined survival skills they utilized to get this far resulting in matches being boring to watch unless you knew one of the contestants on stage well enough. This led to Magenta staring off into space while other matches were going on in the background.

'Should I try to learn by myself or find a teacher? Because while I know a lot about the subject due to meta-knowledge there are most likely gaps in what I know… I have a pretty good idea of training steps I should be taking or how to construct my Hatsu as I have been thinking about it on and off but I cannot rely on my luck for 'one in a million talent' or for my nen category to fall into one of the three that was shown advanced training for… so while I have a good foundation and a bit of advanced knowledge I need something to fill in that info-gap.' deciding to put off my problem regarding learning Nen for later as I witnessed a large amount of outcry from the various other contestants around me. Finally looking up at what was happening on the stage I found Killua covered in blood spatters over the dead body of Pokkle.

"Jeez what got him so riled up?" contrary to my easy-going attitude I was displaying I was looking at the dead body on the ground and considering the ramifications it had in the future. Because while a minor character, Pokkle was the one to bring Ponzu to NGL and consequently the one who got themselves killed by the Chimera ants leading to many ants developing Nen abilities after eating their bodies. Meaning the ants could be considerably weaker in the future or possibly stronger if someone else ends up taking the job those two did in the original timeline.

*step* *step* *step* with soft yet resounding footsteps Killua walked towards the doorway, leaving small bloody footprints on the light grey stone tiles that the floor of the arena was comprised of. Ignoring the various calls and outrage from the staff and other contestants he eventually made it to the door before slowly opening it and taking a sharp left walking out of sight from everyone and disappearing.

"Man he must really be out of it right now…" speaking out loud to myself while gauging the various reactions around the room I was met with anything from shock, indifference, and even excitement.

' I guess some people were just happy to get their Hunter License, though I cannot blame them as it really is nice to not sit out all these fights otherwise we would be here all day…' deciding to move over to where Kurapika and Leorio were standing during the matches before everyone would be ushered out of the room I was met with… something?

"Oh… hello Magenta…" barely acknowledging my presence Kurapika was much too busy thinking over something, and from what I could tell has been like this after his match with Hisoka ended.

'Well I suppose certain plot points are certain or at least have a high probability of happening… though it is good for Kurapika to get some news regarding the phantom troupe and their whereabouts.' quickly looking away from Kurapika I looked at Leorio was constantly switching between pissed off, confusion, disgust, and worry. Eventually, though he too noticed my presence and looked like he was about to explode from anger as stared down at me.

'Huh never really noticed he was taller than me… though he is built like a stick figure for whatever reason with that lanky ass body…' all the while, Leorio began angrily yelling at me while I only half-listened to his ranting.

"*sigh* are you done yet? I understand you don't like the fact that I slapped Gon around the arena floor like it was a game of air hockey, and that most likely makes you a better person overall… but because I took a liking to Gon I would hate to see him get himself killed due to his idiotic and naive mindset. Being a hunter is dangerous and nice words and lofty aspirations won't save him… but unfortunately he is much too stubborn to see that. Now let's get out of here, Killua totally killed the mood here… among other things." walking out of the arena at a moderate pace under the disbelieving eyes of Leorio and Kurapika I began making my way towards the designated room for the post exam seminar.
