Taking X A X Break

AN: Hey this is the chapter I was trying to write while sick last week, or part of it at least. I ended up not finishing it as I wasn't feeling all that great, so I finished it up today and will begin working on tomorrow's chapter and hopefully finish it. I would like to point out though, this chapter has no real reason to exist… It doesn't do much of anything and could have been a time skip. I just figured I would finish this thing up but I don't particularly like it. I'll do better next chapter.

*sigh* "just… hold on for a moment I am almost there, we can look for Kurapika later okay?" Finding myself agreeing with him, I decided to calm down and stop worrying about what I am going to be doing in the near future.

"...yeah, let me know when you get here I'll wave you down." soon our conversation descended into silence as the only exchange we had was not of words but of the ambiance of our surroundings. The sound of hurried footfalls and the beeping of car horns stuck in traffic on his side, or the cheerful chattering of crowds and echoes of music that found their way inside the alleyway.

"...Hey I think I'm nearby now, can you tell me the two buildings the Alleys between" Interrupting the break in conversation was Leorio's voice which seemed much wearier than before.

"I don't think there is any need I can see you, to your left." placing my stump in my coat pocket and pinning my phone in between my shoulder as I once again moved to the entryway for the Nth time this night. A moment earlier, I saw what I suspected was Leorio who was currently peering into the alleyway across the street.

"I'm not seeing you two anywhere, where exactly are you?" Watching him animatedly peer back and forth between the alley and the sidewalk as if we would appear suddenly if he looked back the next time. Chuckling a bit, I paused for a moment, deciding to take in the moment for a bit before directing him to the alley we were in.

"We are across the street… I'll be hanging up now." looking on as he turned around and begin the troubling process of crossing the constantly shifting and crammed roads of Yorknew for a moment before turning around and checking up on Gon. Though there wasn't much that was new on that front, he was still out cold and probably will be for a good while.

"Alright." still making his way through the sea of Cars and the multitude of Profanities from their respective drivers as he blocked their way while crossing the road. Many of which I could overhear from the phone and were… quite colorful to say the least.

*beep* *beep* Quickly shutting the phone with a satisfying click before stashing it with a similar speed. Afterward, I went back to the very engaging task of not joining in with those drivers due to the pure agony coming from my arm. At the very least, I didn't have to worry too much about the wound getting dirty or brushing up against things and giving me a spike of pain due to my Hatsu. Although, shocks and vibrations still irritated it as I did not have enough aura to justify the extra cost for redirecting any damage.

*huff* *huff* "There you are, you look a bit worse for wear, God… what did you guys get into." rushing over to me and giving me a once over, Leorio ended up staring at the blood stain that soaked the left side of my pocket before looking up at what I assumed was a miserable looking appearance on my face.

"I… Stopped any bleeding, I'll be fine for the moment I am just tired… oh, and pain, lots of pain. I just need you to carry Gon and maybe a shoulder to lean on and we can get out of here." nodding my head behind me as he looked over my shoulder to look at Gon for a moment before looking back at me incredulously.

"You got some sort of wound to your torso! And a deep one if that much blood came out, we DO need to get you to a hospital idiot!" Getting in my face, he opted for a verbal thrashing as he had the concise to not throttle me with my apparent injuries.

"You misunderstand, It was an injury to my arm, not my stomach or side. Look, I uh… had a sudden and violent dissociation of body parts. Most of the blood is from the hand, the cut is also extremely clean… I have no clue what I am going to do with this thing."

Relenting, I ended up fishing out the now clammy and pale hand that was covered in dark red blood.

"Your-" eyes widening in surprise at the omission of my injuries, he grasped the midsection of my arm before leveling a stare at my stump under the spotty lighting.

"Let's get back to the hotel and worry about this later okay?" leveling him a stare, we dropped it with a defeated sigh as he walked over to Gon before picking him up and situating him on his back.

{Next Morning}

"... Can you tell me what happened last night before we do anything else?" rebandaging my stump, Leorio began to interrogate me about what happened last night. Mostly due to us deciding to not talk about it and instead get some rest, not that we really did if the bags under our eyes were evidence. Currently Gon was laid out on the other bed out cold while I was given the bed.

"Ah… after we split apart I got the jump on two spiders, One in a tracksuit with blonde slicked back hair and the other was in a traditional Kimono with a katana… I managed to grab Gon and bolt out the window, after that we were on the run from the sword user for the rest of the night essentially. It ended up with me trading my hand for getting that guy." Giving him a brief and quick summary at first, he continued to question me for more details as he continued to treat the various scrapes and bruises on my body. Though what felt the most refreshing was putting on a set of clean clothes afterward. However, all my clothes were in the hotel under my name, so it was a spare pair of pants and a white shirt from Leorio. The shirt was fine but the pants were too slim and long, fitting me much too tight.

"...nnnhh…. Wait, Magenta… Leorio… what happened?" Turning around, we both saw Gon who looked a bit dazed as he sat up under the covers of the bed.
