Egos and Defiled

Hailstorm started to explain to Nikita the secrets of this dimension and the entities they have just encountered.

"There's only one way to exit this place. You must reach the world of life, the very ending of this dungeon. Traverse five other worlds before you can set foot on that rewarding land."

There are 6 worlds in this dimension. The very beginning is the world of blankness where Nikita is now standing. Right next to blankness is survival, tranquility, silence, eternity, and finally, life. Each world is different from each other - the sky, the land, and the entities lurking and living there.

"The spirits you have encountered just now are called lesser egos."

Egos can take over someone's body, depending on how strong the egos are, or how strong is the host's will to be devoured. There are lesser egos and a greater ego, from which the absolute overwhelmingly powerful one is the gate keeper of the world of life, Enigma, the keeper of nirvana.

The entities in this dimension doesn't only limit to egos. There are also the ones that were devoured by them, called defiled. The defiled doesn't intend to challenge your will like the egos would, but they are existing to kill. They are way more powerful than the egos is terms of physical strength, ranging from myrmidons to lords.

Endure, the might of perseverance, is the lord of the world of survival. Mute, the force of serenity, is the one who rules the worlds of tranquility and silence. While Sentinel, the valor of fortification, is the ruler of the world of eternity. These three were believed to be devoured by Enigma a very long time ago.

"What's going to happen to me if I die in this place? Will I just go back to my original world?" She asked, a bit lacking of grit that she will reach the world of life.

"If you die here, you will simultaneously cease from existence in your original world." From those words of Hailstorm, Nikita realized this is not a game anymore. She asked herself why did she, out of nowhere, appear in this dimension. Seemingly hearing Nikita's unverbalized words, Hailstorm responded with a serious tone,

"The creator of this dimension is the moon goddess. She fulfilled your preternatural wishes." Right then, Nikita with this stone-cold hands, falls to the ground.

"Wish? I don't remember what I wished for."

"There's no time to waste feeling helpless now. You need to defeat Endure." With the feeling of not obeying the words of the sword, she hugged her knees and stay still on the ground.

"The sole gate where you can exit this dimension is closing three months from now; which will never unlock afterwards. If I were you, I will stand up from that comfortable dandelion-filled ground and start walking."
