The Memory Crystal

"Come with me." The sword said. She released a plaintive sigh as she stands up from the ground - dandelions sticking on her clothes. Hesitant to continue the journey, she thought of going back to the very start of the world of blankness, kind of hoping the bus is still there. The frost katana just let her be. When she reached the very place, she saw nothingness.

"I told you there's only one exit." The sword said in utter disappointment.

"What shall I do?" Nikita's phone started to vibrate from her pocket and Hailstorm told her to pick it up. The once solely infinity icon on the screen now gained a new function. A holographic map comes out from the phone in front of her eyes, indicating the very place she is standing. The map is pretty bare. There's nothing eye-catching but this one area where it says "memory crystal".

"What is a memory crystal?" She pointed out a finger and tried to touch the map. The sword didn't answer her question but it commanded her to go to that place instead.

"I'll explain it to you when you reached one."

A thundering gun shot was heard reverberating. It seems like Nikita is not the only trapped person here. The idea gave her a bit of hope, so she started traveling the world of blankness. The repeating sceneries made her question if she is even going anywhere, but the map clearly specifies that she is indeed moving ahead. On the road to the memory crystal, Niki has this vague memory of someone that sounds the same and acts the same as Hailstorm. So hazy and confusing, making her feel like she's forgetting someone she used to know before.

The black sun's position is now peeking at the Eastern horizon. Nikita wondered how come she hasn't felt any tiredness despite all the hours she spent walking.

"In this dimension, your physical strength is somehow limitless. But you have to take precaution, physical strength is not your source of power." Explain the sword, her life is dependent on soul existence. Each time she will use a magical attack, she will use her existence in exchange. Once an existence is entirely used, the user will die.

"Do not fret. As long as you do not overuse your magical ability, you won't depart. You can also recover your full existence through memory crystals."

...

"I'll definitely take note of that."
