Chapter 7

Sera didn't trust those words at all, she knew Naja couldn't take care of her.

"Please call aunt Kenna, I don't believe that you could take care of me at all," Sera said before totally closing her eyes.

Naja was silent, but Sera knew that she was pouting at her. Later on, she heard a tapping sound and then a ring.

"Mom, could you come here to Sera's house? She said she had a headache and I should call you because she did believe that I could take care of her, she's so mean."

"I can still hear you, Naja." She had her eyes closed but she was still conscious of everything.

"You're so mean! hmmp!" Sera slightly chuckled as she heard Naja's stomping as she walked out of her room.

Meanwhile, Naja who just walked out of the room went to the living room to talk to her mother.

"I'll be there in a jiffy."

"Bring some food for me too mom! hehe,"

"why would I? are you sick?" Naja had this 'i-can't-believe' look on her face as she continued to converse with her mom.

"can't you just simply bring me some food because I'm your daughter?" Naja, as usual, pouted her lips out of habit.

"Fine, make sure to feed Sera before you make her drink her meds." then the call ended.

On the other hand, the three were on the bed again with Sera, they were looking at her as if she would disappear if they get their eyes off of her. They were guarding her.

Sera felt her body burning, making her feel uncomfortable. The supposed to be headache became a fever. Cloud and Caious howled as they saw five burned marks of the phases of the moon just below Sera's collar down to her valley view making her feel feverish.

Sera rolled over her bed, and as the burning sensation kept growing inside her, Sylvester, the cat who was on her back also saw some runic burned marks on Sera's back. Cloud and Caious kept on howling so loudly that Naja, who was in the living room heard the commotion and hurriedly went to Sera's room.

"What's going on here?" She said as soon as she opened the door, Naja saw the burned marks on Sera's bed the next thing she saw was the glowing red mark on Sera's back.

Naja rushed over to the bed and touched Sera, but the moment she touches her, her hand got burned.

"Oh God Sera! Sera!" Naja wanted to touch and wake Sera but she couldn't do any of it, she was already panicking when Cloud pulled the hem of her shirt, taking her attention.

The moment Naja looked at Cloud's icy eyes, she lost her consciousness. Cloud quickly went beside Sera and blow an ice breath on her back and chest, as the marks slowly fade away, Sylvester's eyes glowed and the burned marks on the bed and Sera's back disappeared. And that's when Kenna, Naja's mom entered the house rushing over to Sera's room.

Her burrows furrowed at the sight that had welcomed her. Naja was laying on the floor unconscious, while Sera was in bed shivering in cold.

Kenna sighed and carefully carried Naja to Sera's bed. Laying beside each other, Naja moved closer to Sera. Kenna had a gentle smile on her face as she took care of both her daughter and Sera.

"You three must be worried," Kenna talked to the adorable pets beside Sera, watching her closely.

"Don't worry, I am here to take care of her." Kenna brushed Sera's hair, then she straightened her body as she went down to the kitchen to cook food for the two.

Moments later, Naja stirred awake. Her brows furrowed as she wonders why she was laying next to Sera in bed.

"Did I fall asleep?" she asked herself as she stretches her body, her hair was a mess and was all over her but she didn't care to fix it.

She lazily went off the bed and went downstairs, when she smelled something nice.

"Mom?" Naja called as she yawned while walking her hair still a mess.

"You ungrateful child! I told you to take care of Sera not sleep with her! Go! fix yourself you look like a group of dogs just chased you down the streets." with Naja scratching her head, she walked back to Sera's room and fixed herself.

Kenna continued to cook, unbeknownst to her three men were standing at her back.

One of them took a letter from its pocket and put it on the table, and just like that, they disappeared into thin air.

And when Kenna prepared the food on the table, she saw the letter, she was just about to ignore it when her eyes caught something.

The last time she had seen that crest was way back when she was still at that place. Why are they sending her a letter now? what do they need?

As those questions flashed on her mind, Naja had already gone down to eat.

"Mom, are you okay? you look pale." Her daughter asked her, Kenna quickly hid the letter and change the subject.

"I'm fine, did you check on Sera?" she asked as she continued to prepare the table.

"Yeah, actually she's already feeling fine, she said she'll be here after she's done fixing herself." Kenna's brows quickly furrowed, but then she flashed a smile when she saw Sera ascending the staircase.

"I'm so sorry for troubling you, Auntie Kenna." Sera slightly bowed her head as an apology.

"No Sera it's fine, you are all alone in this house so it is natural for us to offer you a little help." Kenna walked towards her and guided her towards the table.

"Just to make sure your headache won't be visiting you again, drink your meds after this then rest." Sera happily sat on her chair as she shares food and conversations with Naja and her mom.

And when they had finished eating, Kenna and Naja bid their goodbyes and left her with his pets behind her waiting for her.

Meanwhile, Kenna quickly went up to her room and read the letter.

'Protect Sera at all cost.' those were the only message inside the letter, and it was enough for Kenna to understand what was happening.
