048: One-Inch-Punch

When she had said that this was a move that he would never forget for the rest of his life, Divyat was quickly on edge. He knew or perhaps he wasn't really sure, but a big part of him had told him their entire fight had been one big elaborate play. It was a test, and he was the one being tested. He noticed that even if he had given it his all in the exchange, she was not even breathing hard as opposed to him who was breathing hard and was sweating.

She was way too powerful, a mountain that at this point he would not be able to overcome. But then again there were a few factors to her strength. For one Divyat was sure that she has been the incarnation of whatever spirit she had slain or had sacrificed itself for her way longer than he has with the winter stag. The improvements the spirits gave was continuous, according to Cao Lin, there was a possibility that even if Divyat did not cultivate for the next thousand years he would still keep getting stronger. And in that regard she has been at this cultivation gig longer than he has, and he also suspected she was of a much higher cultivation than the mid qi condensation her body was reading.

Never the less, as he rushed towards her the world seemed to slow down itself, an idea or perhaps was it a flickering emotion or a concept or perhaps it would be better to call it a Dao. It was a glimpse of it that Divyat saw and it was all so massive, a power he could not understand or comprehend, at least not at this stage of power, even with all of his comprehensive intellect. First she had a single finger pointed in his direction, and in his mind it seemed as if that finger contained the entire Dao of cultivation, a concept of power unlike any other and the prime essence of the technique.

Divyat didn't know if it was because she was faster or if somehow he had gotten slower, bit there was no thought or attempt to evade as the strike slammed in to his midriff. There was enough power generated to release a massive shockwave as even the sound barrier was broken from both the speed and power of the hit. Divyat was blasted backwards, his body seemingly folding into itself as he bounced on the platform, rolling, bouncing and rolling some more. And with each impact his body made on the platform, bones were broken, tissue and muscles were torn as Divyat was literally blasted to pieces. The only thing still holding him together was his skin and his own willpower.

Unconsciousness threatened to swallow him, as pain wracked through his entire form. But funny enough the pain did not cause him to pass out, instead it kept him awake and hyper aware of his surroundings, and even more so of is body as a stream of cold Qi blasted through him, fixing damages, but not fast enough to spare Divyat from the world of pain he was in. with a completely sluggish attempt, he managed to turn himself over to watch the Asura who stood there watching impassively with an amused smirk on her face, like Divyat being such a state was some sort of joke or game to her… that smug grin pissed Divyat off as he began to drag himself back towards her, moving as if he was a worm on the ground, his rage palpable an inescapable.

The Asura stopped feeling amused as her smirk disappeared, she shifted her gaze to fang Bin who was still watching, surprised by just how determined Divyat was, even when he had two legs in the grave at the moment. It was admirable, but at the same time it was quite hypocritical of Divyat. He expected people weaker than him to bow to his superiority and back off, but against a very obvious superior opponent he refuses to back down…. Was it because she was a woman… did he think it beneath himself to lose to a female that he would fight so hard even at the detriment of himself…. What sort of pride did he have?

Unfortunately Divyat would be unable to answer that question as he had completely passed out by the time he got to her. Heck he had already lost con consciousness halfway through his crawling, the pain becoming so unbearable that even though he did not want to, his own brain and body had forced itself to shut down in order to preserve itself. As if his body now had a mind of its own, but even at that Divyat had shocked everyone watching. A heavy silence fell over the entire arena as they watched over the unconscious form of the human that had not only invaded this trial, but he had absolutely dominated it from top to bottom… even against people that were at a higher realm than he was. As for the Asura, what only a few certain amount of people watching, both amongst the trial takers and the elders watching over it; is that she was not an entire realm over Divyat, but rather three whole realms. Yet he had brought her down and gave her a fierce fight.

In accordance with the promise she had made to him when they started this dance of theirs. She raised her hand in the air and spoke with a crisp clear voice. "I forfeit! The winner is Divyat of the humans!"

The uproar that followed was to be expected, obviously this was a result that nobody wanted. In fact no one had expected the Asura to keep her promise, yet here she was bring shame to the citizens of the Ghadovara mountains by letting a human come first in their trials. But she didn't care, she had made her choice, and as everyone started getting teleported, all heading back to a central location before being promptly sent back home to wherever in the Ghadovara mountains they were hold up. She took one last look at Divyat's unconscious form and smiled, her heart skipping multiple beats in a way that shocked even her. But regardless she knew that finally…. She has found the one!
