Aria's head spun around, looking for the source of the sound, but the same scream was heard from another direction.

This made Aria feel uneasy, and her heart was beating fast as the fear filled her nerve.

Lyod tilted his head toward her and immediately pulled Aria back into the woods, where the girl was safe.

"It was an ambush. I need to go, and you have to..."

"No, you are not. You will stay here with Adora."

Adora appeared from behind the shadows as soon as Lyod mentioned her name. This time her cubs weren't with her. Instead, another much bigger wolf appeared with the female wolf.

"That's her mate, and you will be safe here."

"Can you tell me what's going on? Who invaded the mortal realm?"

"My boys are still out there investigating and..." Lyod couldn't continue his word when he heard a report from one of his men.
