Chapter 2

You know what? I take back anything I have said to the Warrior and Killer Rune. They are very useful. Warrior Rune let me learn martial arts quickly, even when I did not know anything about it.

The Killer Rune helps me greatly in hunting. It helps me in pointing at the place that I need to stab for maximum damage without damaging the hide too much.

While I do not need it at the moment, I can sell it when I find some civilization. Currently, I'm moving around the forest in the general direction of the people who are running away from the Dothraki.

So far, there is nothing but trees and rocks, but I manage to find a pathway. It was a dirt road but a road nonetheless. If there is a road, it must lead me to some civilization. Even a small village is good for me.

I want to buy new clothes. My current clothes are not good. There are many holes from the deer and boar that I hunt.

Not only that, but I also need a blacksmith to repair my sword. It starts to chip from all the hunting.

"Hmmm?"

I can hear a footstep coming from the right. I take out my sword and point it at the location of the sound. A second later, I can see a boar running toward me. At the sight of an enemy, my Rune starts to activate, and I can see where the weak point of the boar is.

I can see several of them, but in the span of one week, I know which point let me have an easier fight. It was a joint between the neck and the head.

When the boar gets close, I dodge to the left and jab my sword at the weak point of the boar. I can hear it squeal in pain and try to run away from me, but I did not let that happen. I push the boar to the ground and see it slowly die.

"Dammit! Now all my clothes are bloody. It looks like I need to rest here."

Bloody clothes are not something you want. I learned it the hard way when a pack of five wolves appeared when they smelled the blood on my body. Lucky for me, I managed to defeat them, but unfortunately for me, they managed to hurt me.

This is one of the reasons why I need new clothes.

"Now, what should I do for you? I already have smoked meat… I guess I can have a steak for the night. I still have a few wild vegetables left and some herbs. If only I had salt in my possession."

Yeah, if only I have salt for seasoning.

~Three days later~

Three days more is all it took for me to find civilization. Finally, I can see a village not too far away from me. I walk toward the village with a smile on my face.

After a few minutes of walking, I arrived in front of the village. I can see people walking inside and out of the village with a cart filled with timber.

"Oh? A new face. It's been a while. Where are you from?"

I snap from my thoughts when I hear someone talking to me. I look at the middle-aged man in front of me and smile.

"Huh. Are you crying? Oy, lad. Why are you crying."

"Ah, it's nothing. It's been a while since I saw someone who did not want to kill me."

"Hmmm? What are you talking about, lad? Are you getting Wood Sickness?"

"Dothraki."

"What?! Those bastards are here?!"

"Ah, no. It's been a while since I encountered them. I did not get followed by them."

I can see him stay still and not move an inch as if he is waiting for an attack. Seeing that I was telling the truth, he released a relieved breath and said.

"You manage to get away from them, lad?"

"Yes. I hide in the bush not too far away from them."

I can see him nodding before saying.

"There is no shame in running away from them, lad."

"Thank you. Anyway, do you know where I can sell these?"

I put down all the Wolves Pelt on my shoulder and looked at him.

"Huh, a Timber Wolf. You kill them by yourself?"

I nod my head and see the man examining the pelt on the ground. I can see him place his finger on the pelts and look at them from all angles.

"Aye."

"Hmmm, all of the pelts are in good condition. There is not a single hole in it. I will give you three hundred coins for it."

Three hundred coins? How much is that? Also, a golden goat coin? That means I'm in Qohor, huh?

Wait! I'm in Qohor! Dammit! I'm in the place where an undead rule over a group of magic users. Does my Rune count as magic? Will they notice it? Urgh. My body shivers at the thought of them coming at me.

"Are you alright, lad?"

"Ah, I'm okay."

"I see. How is it? Will three hundred coins be good?"

"Hmmm, raise it a little bit. Three hundred and fifty."

"No can't do, lad. While the pelt was good, it was not big enough. Three hundred and twenty."

"... Very well. Three hundred and twenty."

"Great! Wait here. I will take the money."

I see him walk away from me and leave me alone at the edge of the village. I don't really know the price for that pelts and cannot get the optimal price.

I look around and see that the village is not as big as I thought it was. Most of the buildings in this village are timber processing buildings. I guess this village's primary income comes from all the trees in the forest, and I understand why there are so many timber processing buildings.

"Sorry for the wait, lad. Here is your money."

I snap from my thoughts and look at the man walking toward me with a pouch filled with coins. I catch the pouch, get thrown at me, and look at the item inside. Seeing many coins inside, I nod my head and say,

"Thank you."

"Heh. Don't mention it, it is just business after all."

"Anyway, does this village have an inn?"

"Aye. Just walk that way. The twentieth house on the right is the inn.``

"Thank you."

I don't know what I will be doing from now on, but for now, I need to sleep on a bed and have a hearty meal.
