Spending a Day

Standing up from kneeling on the ground, the golden sun reflects on his perfect face as he extends his hand to her, "Take my hand."

Grasping his hand and standing up from sitting on the rock, she followed next to him; from moment to moment, he would look at his face shyly as she followed his steps.

She could sense a scent from her nose; the smell attracted her to her hunger as her steps quickened.

As he parts away from the large leaves obscuring her view, she could see meat being roasted on the sticks cooked by fire.

Taking some of the meets from the stick, he cuts it up with a knife and puts it on a plate readily for her.

"Here," he hands her the plate of food.

He watches as she bites the food, smiling to himself, seeing how much she is enjoying the roasted meet.

"This is delicious," she said to him, "where does this meat come from?"

He said to her, "It is best that you don't know, or else you will find the meat not so appetizing anymore."

"Okay, I guess I won't want to know then," she says as she continues to eat.

When they finished eating, he took her by the hand and walked on the sandy beach, enjoying the warm sunshine.

The bustling noise of the ocean waves crashing on the sand, again and again, the quiet was washed away, producing calming tranquility.

They sat there together until sunset, with the sun hovering over the ocean; a day goes by just like that.

Looking at the vast sea in front of her eyes, she asked Jon by her side, "Do you think we'll ever be able to get out of here?"

"Yes, we will," he said to her with certainty because he remembered that Death had told him that there would be people rescuing them from the island soon.

"But what happens if we never managed to leave here?"

"Well, in that case," Jon thought, "let's start our little family here, and we can live together till the end of our lives happily."

She turns her head away and, hiding her blushing face from his sight, says to him with embarrassment, "Who wants to start a family with you?"

He held her hand on the sand, "Of course, it is you," then gently gave her a warm hug and kisses on the lips.

"No way! Go find someone else," she said to him with a soft laugh before running away from his side as Jon chased after her with a wide grin.

After catching her in his arms, he teases her by wrestling her to the ground playfully as he pins her hand lightly on the beach sand.

He puts her down on the sand and smiles at her, looking at the slight smile on that adorable face as he plants a small kiss on her cheek.

Feeling him holding her hand down on the sand, she looks at him sweetly with those blue eyes and waits for him to kiss her.

"It has to be you," he told her with a smile as he kissed her sweetly, "in this life or the next life, it has to be you, and nobody else will do."

As she felt his hand rustling her golden hair, she asked with shyness, "Even if I'm not pretty one day?"

"I will love you even if you're not pretty one day," he promised.

"You will still care for me even if I can't walk one day, and I will always need to be taken care of?" She asked sweetly, biting her bottom lip shyly.

"I will love you even then, and I will take your hand as we forge memories together," he told her with a smile on his lips.

"Even if one day I might forget everything about us?"

"Even if you forget me, I will tell you a thousand stories about us, just so you can remember my name once again," he told her in a whisper as the waves crashed on the sand.

"Why?" She asked him, "Even I'm not sure if I would want to be with myself by then."

He kissed her, "Simply because I love you, and that's what you would do for someone you love, no matter the price you have to sacrifice."

She liked hearing these words from him since he had never accepted any of her advances in the past, but hearing his words today made her feel reassured that he would never abandon her coldly.

She holds his neck, gives him a deep kiss, and continues with their bodies intertwined, with her heart filled with longing for him as they fall in love deep into the night.

It was a calming kind of night with the stars twinkling above in the background and the waves muffling any sound.

He sits on the sands and watches her sleeping on his knees joyfully as he brushes her golden hair with warmth in his eyes.

"So many years have passed, and I still love you so much" he breathed a sigh, remembering that morning as a kid; he saw this young girl standing in front of him with a cute smile and introduced herself as Julia; back then, he was so afraid, being in an unfamiliar surrounding.

And when it was his birthday, he remembered how one night he surprised him by coming into his room with a small cake that she borrowed from the kitchen as they celebrated his birthday together; that was a great day.

He smiles as he thinks of all this memory belonging to this life as he touches her warm cheeks, "Thank you, Julia, your love gave me special meaning."

Soon a couple of months passed as they stayed on the island together, and they had gotten so used to each other's presence during this time.

Ever since that night together, she had transformed slowly into someone who learned to take care of him and learn ways to help find food instead of relying on him.

He was happy to see her grow to become more independent and mature through this experience together.
