"What is the meaning of friendship?" Jon asked while his head looked away towards the floating clouds in the air, "What is friendship?"
Thinking back in his mind, all the memories flashed right through his mind at lightning speed. Scenes of other people, love, smiles, and people he said hello to for one day and walked past and didn't get to know more of them anymore.
"You're asking such a deep question," Christina smiled a little, "but I don't think it is something that I can answer for you." Putting her hand to her heart, "It can only be something you feel. The meaning of love or friendship is subjective to every one of us. You can only feel."
He turned his head with a smile and looked at her, seeing her eyes warmly looking back at him, "Thanks. I think you're right about that. It is something that I must discover on my own."
Christina didn't want to disturb him as she watched Jon look at the branches shaking because of the wind, seemingly deep in some thought.
A part of him knows that there are many people out there in this world, some people you can trust your heart with where their kindness uplifts life and brings it unforgettable happiness.
At the same time, others had broken his heart and only hurt him in the past. Leaving only pain behind and a scar that still hasn't healed.
You can never get hurt if you don't put your heart out there in the world. But, if you never walk out of the door, you would also not know what amazing friendships are waiting for you.
After a while, Jon took Christina's hand, "Come on, let's go. We should buy some groceries to celebrate the last day that Jorge and Jessica are still with us. Let's leave them with an unforgettable memory tonight."
Christina found her heart almost skipping a beat when she found Jon taking her hand, but she hid her smile by lowering her head, as her cheeks turned into a warm blush.
She watches his bright smile as he turns his head behind him, watching her shyness. She is watching the way his black hair flows and moves with his steps and the blow of the wind.
Putting his last plate of food down on Jon's table set up on the skyscraper apartment's balcony. The balcony on their apartment 3601 is connected to Jorge and Jessica's home, so there is ample space.
With a slight glance, you could see everything in the city from the balcony; it has a beautiful view of the evening sun.
The door to their apartment is flung open as Mark and Fiona rush into the home, almost as though they are racing each other.
"Fiona! Mark! You two are back!" Christina called out while taking some cups with cold smoothies that Jon had prepared beforehand, there's a sweet smell, and he made it by mixing a lot of fruits and ice so that it is almost like drinkable ice cream. The best kind of drink for the summer.
Mark immediately rushed up to grab the drink in Christina's hand, "Ha! I told you, can't outrun me here! Your legs are not even as long as mine!"
Mark joked while drinking from the straw that was already stuck to the cup, breathing a breath of enjoyment as he tasted the frosty smoothie, "Ah! This is bliss!"
"Next time, I will defeat you," Fiona said while also drinking from the cup of smoothie that she took from Christina's other hand. But the moment she had a taste of the smoothie, she had forgotten all about the competition between her and Mark.
"You guys should slow down, or else you will get a headache," Christina said in a joking manner while watching Mark already making a scene as his head burns from the frost, while Fiona laughs and cracks up with joy seeing how Mark is heaving a headache from the ice.
"There is still a lot more in the fridge," Christina said, "Mark brought another fridge today, and we stored a lot of food and bakeries inside. Your favorite also, Mark."
"My favorite!" Mark said with excitement, immediately rushing towards the second refrigerator on the left side of the kitchen, opening it open to see a lot of delicacies inside waiting for him to snack on.
Even Fiona had a certain glow in her eyes as she watched the food; her mouth was already watering as she gulped down her saliva.
Since Jon had moved into the apartment, he put money into installing air conditioning in every room, including the condo in which Jorge and Jessica live.
He also bought everybody a television in the rooms and upgraded the shower area stuff to make it more enjoyable for everyone.
"You two are a little late today," Jon said with a smile as he put down the utensils, "Jorge is taking a shower, but he will be coming over in a second." After a while, he already knew the timing of everyone and when to expect them to be home.
"I would be early if it weren't for this idiot," Fiona said and started to turn into argument mode with Mark right next to her.
"You were the one that started the argument at the parking lot," Mark said to her, "you should be lucky that I saved you from a fight."
"What do you mean you saved me?" Fiona said with annoyance as she had her arms crossed, "That guy took my parking spot just as I was about to park my car there. I would have told him who is the boss with my fist for being so rude."
"Hey, you two, stop arguing now," Jessica came through the entrance door and pulled Mark apart from Fiona towards the balcony.
"I wouldn't want to talk to her anyway," sitting down on the balcony table, Mark immediately forgot all about the arguments as he ate the food with happiness.
