The Day Before

As they all finished eating the dinner that Jon had prepared for them, they all sat together, enjoying the glow of the warm sunshine of the evening.

"Time sure flies by fast," Jon said in a contemplative mood. He was talking about the fact that their wedding will be happening tomorrow.

During this week, they had all gotten closer with him and developed a warming friendship; it was challenging to say that he didn't feel sad that he would need to say goodbye so fast.

Mark leaned back on the chair and, with his hands behind his back leisurely, "Hey Jessica, do you still remember the first time you two met each other."

Jessica laughs as she remembers the time in the past, "Haha, back then, I thought Jorge was a stalker because I wasn't expecting new guests in the apartment, and none of you told me about him."

Jorge also laughs, remembering their first meeting, "And I can still hear your high pitch scream before you put pepper spray over my face."

He smiles warmly and puts his hand over Jessica's hand lovingly, "It has already by three years since we had been dating and four years since we met each other."

At this moment, Christina says to everyone, "Jon and I have prepared something for you two."

"Huh, a gift?" Fiona asked strangely, "How come you didn't tell me? I would have joined in."

Christina took out a picture frame that she had hidden inside her bag and handed it to the two of them as they observed the picture frame with a mixture of contemplation and surprise.

"This is so lovely," Jessica said as she observed the people in the picture frame, "this was the picture we took together yesterday."

"Let me take a look," Mark said, scooting closer as he watched all the happy smiles on the faces in the picture.

"We want you to know that no matter where you two go in this grand world, we will always have you within our hearts, like a picture that never fades," Jon said with a calming smile.

Jessica wipes away the slight tears gathering around the corner of her eyes as Jorge hands her a tissue from the table, "Thank you so much, guys. I'll never forget the time that we are together."

Everyone sitting there smiled as they heard her say such heartfelt words, Fiona looked at Jorge and Jessica as they embraced each other, and Jorge comforted her.

As Jon sat there, he felt a hand touch him lightly on his arm and noticed that Christina was smiling at him as a subtle way of saying congratulations for how well their gift-giving turned out to be.

He never was somebody who knew much about friendship; in his heart, he longed to fit in with others in the past without success.

And there is something strange about friendship, and the older he gets, the more he understands that there is something called destiny.

'In my life, I watch as people slowly walk away, people I once knew,' he thought to himself as he watched everyone talk with such happiness, 'and sometimes no matter how I try, I find that people still leave on their journey. Maybe there is something called destiny that connects friends and separates them like summer and winter.'

That night before the next day's wedding, Jon sat on the couch in his room alone; it was close tonight as the winter shone the full moon in the sky.

He could still hear the noises outside of his friends as they watched a tv show together, as his eyes closed slowly in a short nap.

The next day was the wedding, the place for it was down at the community area below, there is a beautiful lake there as the surrounding had all these giant skyscrapers.

Jon stands there quietly in the middle of the place, watching the clouds in the sky above for a moment, wearing a white suit that matches the setting of the wedding.

As he was slowly drifting off into his thoughts, he felt a light touch on his shoulder, and looking to his side; he saw a familiar face that would match one of the people from the memory he had inherited.

The person is wearing a black suit and has a charming smile, "Hey brother; I'm Luke. Would you be interested in buying a bottle of Ultra Strength Pills?"

Jon hides his smile inside as he looks at him with curiosity, "Ultra Strength Pills?"

"These bottles of pills I bought for 999, but today I will give you a special discount, and you can purchase it right now for just 99 dollars," the man said with a tone of selling Jon something, "by taking a pill a day you will find yourself filled with energy."

Then he moved closer to Jon and said calmly as though whispering a secret, "And you can fight for hours in bed without any problems."

Hearing this kind of sales pitch, Jon raised an eyebrow, "Can you prove it to me?"

"If you want proof, give me a moment; my girlfriend can recommend the trustworthy value of this product," Luke disappeared to find someone amongst the crowd and grabbed a girl who was freeloading on the food from the wedding.

"Hey Mary, I need your help," Luke whispered to her as he said with anxiousness to close the deal, "I need you to partner up with me to sell a product."

"Luke, why should I do that? You still haven't returned that ten bucks you borrowed from me a couple of days ago," Mary said to him as she continued to freeload on the food; she had her hair dyed to brown color and was wearing a short lightish red skirt.

"If I close the deal, you'll get 10%," Luke said.

"10% is too little, 30%," she said without hesitation as her eyes turned into the glow for the money.

"30% it is," Luck said as he shook hand with Mary.
