Together

"Looks like you found out my secret," Jon said with a smile as they looked into each other's eyes. There seemed to be something magical about the moment.

"Well, it is no secret for me," Christina said with a cute smirk on her face, "so are you going to be telling me or not?"

Jon kisses her lightly on the forehead before telling her, "Well, when I saw Jorge and Jessica leaving, I felt nostalgic. During this short week, I already thought of them as my friends."

"That's normal," Christina said as she also thought back to the scene of their departure. Her eyes also contain a hint of nostalgia, "They are my best friend. It is hard to say goodbye. Always."

Jon turned his head to glance at the moon in the distance, and through the window, many skyscrapers were part of the area, some with their lights off and others still with their lights turned on.

In this city filled with people, everybody is more distant and far away than it looks, not just a short distance away.

"But you can't hold onto someone with you forever," Christina said as she laid her head on his chest, "they are not possessions. People have wings, and they will choose when they settle and when they fly into the sky and blossom their wings up high."

"I guess we always need to prepare to say goodbye," Jon said with a tone of contemplation, "and maybe it is destiny that brings us together. Then, destiny still brings people apart to the next destination."

There came a moment of silence between the two of them; in that silence, they could hear the faint sound of Mark and Fiona arguing outside again.

And then there is the sound of Zack singing a song in the door next to Jon's room.

"I guess destiny is like that, Jon," Christina said with a light smile as she listened to his heartbeat, "but it is never wrong. We learned a lot when we were together, shared our stories, and brought our memories to this apartment. When it was time to leave, they were meant to move on to another chapter with new lessons for them to learn and grow from. "

"That is how I wish I could think, too," Jon breathes a light sigh.

He realized that it is the truth that at the different stages, people are there to learn something together, and then one-day destiny may bring to a separate chapter when they are finally ready to accept the new lesson."

"It is like having a child," Christina gives a metaphor, "when the child is ours, we love the child and try to protect our love, but one day they will need to move out and explore the outside world and find themself amongst all the new lessons that life will present them.

Jon smiles upon hearing her tell him these thoughts, "Maybe a part of me is just afraid of how destiny breaks two people apart."

He likes this peaceful quiet with her as they are both together in this small room. He wants the space to be relatively small and finds it quite comfortable.

Having a big room makes everything inside seem so spacious and empty simultaneously, but living in a small apartment makes everything seem safer, and you get to come in contact with the people who live with you more often.

"But maybe what seems like a sad departure or a horrible experience is not so bad at all," Jon said as he closed his eyes to enjoy the comfortable atmosphere, "destiny may be the most beautiful thing, as it readies us for what is there to come."

"Jon, I once heard from somewhere that sometimes we need darkness to appreciate sunlight," Christina said with a simple smile as she rested on top of him, "and without departure, we will not learn to appreciate love when it is there. These things all help us grow."

"I like to think that too," Jon says at the end before she falls asleep.

In the morning, Jon cooked the breakfast for everyone and sets it on the table as Mark and Zack arrived in the kitchen to eat their fill of the food.

"This fried rice with this warm drink is too delicious," Mark said as he ate the food prepared before them, "what plans do you have for the day, Jon?"

"I'm planning on going shopping with Christina in the afternoon," Jon said and then noticed that something seemed off with Zack, "something on your mind?"

"I have searched the whole night, and I still can't find the right work," Zack said with disappointment.

"What kind of job are you looking for? Maybe I can provide some assistance," Jon said lightly as he scooped some fried rice into Zack's bowl.

"You sure you can help me?" These days Zack noticed that Jon doesn't seem to be doing any work and would stay home or hang out with friends.

"Don't look down on Jon just because it seems like he has a lot of time in his day," Fiona came out of the hallway and approached the table, and Christina also walked out together with her.

"Here, Fiona, this bowl of fried rice is for you," Jon hands Fiona and Christina a bowl of fried rice with chopped ham meat.

Christina then pretends to whisper to Zack, "Jon is secretly a multi-billionaire."

Zack begins to look at Jon in a new light upon hearing that news, "No way!"

"If you try telling me, maybe I can provide some assistance," Jon said with a simple smile as he drank from a straw.

Zack thought, "Well, I want a job in the technology field, and it gives me a lot of time in my day and pays a lot of money."

"I think I have the perfect job for you," Jon said with a smile, "I just bought this technology company, and they need some remote workers for coding and programming, and the pay is 300k a year, and you only need to work for three hours every day on weekdays."
