Jenny's POV
I had tried calling Danica but her phone was off. I looked around and began to pace. She didn't have classes today and I was wondering what time she was going to be back. But now I couldn't get a hold of her. I turned and went to the office where both Mathew and Derick were. I knocked and entered. They were looking over papers as Maggy played with bricks in her play pen and Lilly sat her little eyes glued to a TV screen.
"What's up babe?" I shrugged and placed a hand to Mathews back.
"I can't get a hold of Danica… Her phone is turned off." He frowned.
"Not like her… But she did say she had something to do today so she might just be in a meeting." His reassurance didn't help as I scrunched up my nose.
"I'm going to call Gilbert…" He nodded and Derick watched as I went through my contacts and called.
"Long time Jenny. How've you been?" I smiled at the low voice of age on the other end of the phone.
"I'm good Mr Smith… I was wondering if Danica was home? She isn't answering her phone." He sighed and I could hear his door unlocking.
"Just give me a moment…" A few bangs boomed over the line. After a while the sound of a door opening. "She's not here…" I could hear him moving around. "From the smell of her laundry left in the machine I say she hasn't been back in a while." I bit my lip.
"Ok, thanks if you see her could you get her to call me please." He sighed.
"Yeah." There was a sound of a washing machine. "I'll let her know. Take care and don't worry too much. She's a big girl and can look after herself."
"I know. Bye."
"Bye" He hung up.
Derick was leaning back in his seat his eyebrows furrowed. He looked to Mathew and pointed.
"Do you have Rodgers number?" He nodded. "Call him. She could be working at the moment." Mathew pulled out his phone.
"Hey Rodger, It's Mathew. Look we can't get a hold of Danica. I was wondering if you knew where she was?" Rodger seemed to hesitate before answering in his cocky way.
"Yeah, she was here last night and the night before." Mathew gave me a smirk.
"Is she still there?" I could hear his nerves on the other end of the line.
"No, she left this morning. I don't know what she plans to do today. But she's coming to the club to work Friday… She'll also have your tickets so its possible she's on her way home." He trailed off and Mathew narrowed his eyes.
"Is everything alright?" Rodger chuckled.
"Everything is fine. She just didn't say where she was going." He sighed. "Well, I have to go." Mathew nodded.
"No worries. See you Friday." Rodger agreed then hung up. "I think they had a fight." He smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"Why would you say that?" He put his phone back into his pocket.
"Just a hunch." He slowly looked to Derick who seemed to have a dark expression on his face.
"She works for Rodger… anything else?" Mathew smirked.
"Well… Dean's not the only one she goes to for a booty call…" Derick's eyes darkened and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh please. Weren't you all happy that Lisa's coming?" He bit his lip and sighed.
"Fuck!" He snarled and leant back. "Why does this shit have to happen to me?" He growled.
"Well," Mathew grinned. "You could go and see Richard at the hospital, he could run tests or something for you." Derick snarled.
"Get bent." Mathew giggled and leant back in his chair.
"Then no complaining!" He pointed. "You know the rule go to the doctor or no complaining about it." Derick let an angry breath out.
"I just mean it's rare to find one mate but ending up with two at the same time…" He shook his head then looked up as the door opened and the twins ran in. "Why are you two back so early?" He looked to his phone but no messages or missed calls.
"The school sprung a leak!" Kaden jumped onto Derick's knee and grinned. "The whole corridor is like a river." I nodded and patted Aden as he hugged me.
"How did you two get back?" Kaden smirked.
"Miss Rosa brought us here. She was asking a lot of questions about you." Derick rolled his eyes.
"What did you tell her?" Kaden grinned.
"You had found someone." He sighed in relief.
"Good. At least Lisa won't…" He was cut off as Kaden smirked.
"We told her about Danica and how you let her into the pack and she would be a grate Luna. She agreed with us and even Uncle Mat said so." I covered my face as the atmosphere in the room became heavy.
"You did what?" Derick's voice was a little higher in pitch as he tightly pursed his mouth.
"We told her all about Danica." Kaden smiled. "She's awesome and would be the best for you." Derick sighed and shot a look at Mathew.
"Who put this nonsense into their heads?" Mathew shrugged.
"They really like Danica." He nodded.
"Why? She's just a werewolf that..."
"No!" I looked down startled as Aden was looking at his father with angry eyes. His outburst seemed to stun everyone in the room. "She's not just a random werewolf. She is the best person I've ever met!" He pointed a shaking hand at Derick. "If you stop thinking with your dick and think about what's best for you and the pack, you would see that." I blinked in surprise the spun around as Aden bolted from the room his eyes brimming with tears.
"Aden!" Derick called and I waved a hand for him to sit back down.
"I'll go talk to him." I watched as Derick slowly sat back to the seat one arm around Kaden's stomach as he staired at the door Aden had left open. With a sigh I followed the scent around the house a few times then out into the training yard. I felt a sigh run through me as I began to follow the trail towards Red Springs.
Mathew's POV
I smirked then hid my face. I hadn't expected Aden, of all people, to react so strongly to his fathers words and with his own glorious words. Slowly I forced myself to look serious as I turned back to Derick. He was not in a good mood.
"So… do you want to continue this another time?" He nodded.
"What the fuck is that about you calling Danica Luna or would make a good Luna?" He fixed his gaze on me and I shrugged as Kaden shifted uncomfortably.
"The boys have made it clear they really like Danica. Most people in the pack that have met her really like her." I shrugged as Kaden made his escape and grabbed Lilly as she headed out the door.
"Don't go too far away you two!" He bellowed after Kaden.
"Look it can't hurt to get to know her better. If you do have two mates then you'll need to do something sooner rather than later." He grunted. "And weren't you getting all upset about her fucking Rodger and Dean?" He let a long groan out.
"And what about Lisa? You know how she gets." I shrugged.
"No fucking clue, She's jealous beyond words." I grunted. "You might have to explain to her about the situation." He closed his eyes slowly and fell against the chair.
"That won't go down well. Lisa is also from an Alpha's blood line. She could kill Danica if it came to it." I shrugged.
"Honestly, I can't help you. I have one mate and that's enough for me. I have no idea what I would do with two… If my feelings for the second mate were just as strong as the ones I have for Jenny… I would have to find a way to bring them both into my life." He grumbled and shook his head. "And I don't think Danica is that easy a push over." He sighed.
"Aden in particular seems to have taken a strong liking to Danica…" he shook his head. "Fuck it. Can you watch the kids tonight?" I nodded and watched as he got up.
"Where are you going?" He shrugged.
"Out." He didn't say anything else as he left the office. I wandered over to Maggy and picked her up as she looked around with watery eyes.
"Looks like it's you and me baby." She sniffed and stuck out her little lip. "I know, I'm so sorry." I rocked her a bit then ran out the office holding her like a little plane and she squealed in delight as her laughter filled the corridors.
Gilbert's POV
I started the washing machine but there was something wrong in this apartment that made my skin crawl. Traces of black magic tingled my skin and made the fillings in my teeth vibrate. Looking back at the door I hesitated before walking into the bedroom and looking around. Whatever it was that was upsetting me was close by.
My fingers found a little money bag with what looked like dried blood inside. My eyes flicked to the violin case next to it and I saw the same dry blood. I rummaged in my pockets and pulled out an unused sandwich bag then scraped the blood from the case into the bag. I gave it a little sniff and could feel the imprint of black magic on the blood.
"What the fuck are you?" I hissed then opened the violin case and stared into the black obsidian eyes that looked up at me. "We meet again witch."
