I sat in the office next to Richard and watched as Bella sat with a strange hood on. It was basically a net that went over the head and pushed little sensors to the skin. On the other side of the screen Jeff sat wearing the same kind of hood and grinning. Mathew waked in and I looked at him.
"Why did Jeff go first?" He smirked.
"He heard Bella came out here chasing her mate and wanted to take a chance." I nodded.
"Did the Alpha come to try his luck?" Mathew shook his head.
"No… he's got plenty on his mind." I heard a giggle.
"That's a shame. Can you imagine me a Luna?" I smirked and Mathew nodded.
"No one would get any work done." Richard nodded and pointed to the monitors.
"This is the brain imaging system." It looked like an outline of a brain from four angles and different areas were lighting up. "As you can see Bella has already got a sniff of her mate and is actively looking." He pressed a button and the dark screen slid up.
"Wow…" I managed and looked at the colours dancing over the screen.
"They both like what they see…" After a few moments he raised the second screen and little fans turned on. Bella sighed and shook her head. Jeff smirked as he gave an over dramatic sigh and shrug.
"Worth a try." Richard closed the screens then walked forward into the second room and unhooked Jeff from the sensors then cleared the air with a sent remover. Chad came in next and sat as Richard got to work putting the hood on him my phone rang.
"Hi Dean, are you coming to see if Bella's your mate? The others are already here… except the Alpha." I heard him sigh.
"I'm on my way but does it sound bad that I don't want her to be my mate?" I looked around as Mathew shook his head.
"Why?" He cleared his throat.
"I have concerns she won't like me. She's a very experienced female…" I nodded as Mathew shook his head again.
"She won't care." He said. "Once the mate bond takes hold only you'll satisfy her." I heard him mumble.
"I'm outside." I stood.
"I'll come get you at the front." We hung up and I left the room stopping by the door. "Tell me if Chad's her mate." Mathew took my seat and grinned.
"Will do." I left the room and made my way to the front of the hospital.
Dean was standing outside the front door his hands in his pockets as he kicked a little stone back and forth. He saw me as I pushed open the doors and smiled.
"Why the long face?" He sighed.
"I know your not my mate and all, but you make me happy." He blurted out. "I don't even care you have other men you see. I just want a share of you." My jaw flopped open and I heard the pup whine in my head.
'Have him?' With a sigh I grabbed his hand.
"Look, just see if she's your mate first. Bella is an awesome wolf and you'll love her even if she's not your mate. And if she's not then no harm and you can still have me." He nodded and pulled me in for a hug then kissed my lips. This would have been awesome but a little whine in my head kept distracting me.
"Fine…" He took another quick glance around as we walked inside to the waiting area where Chad and Jeff sat looking disappointed. They grinned.
"You might be lucky." Dean sighed.
"Yeah, and Shawn's her mate." Jeff watched as I rolled my eyes and he sat down pulling me to his side. Shawn walked out and shook his head.
"It's you or the Alpha." Dean cursed "If it's you, I'm taking your spot with Danica!" He called playfully from the waiting room as the doors closed. Dean nearly turned to ran back to fight him as I kept pulling him into the room and to the seat. I sat him in the seat as Richard placed the hood on his head.
"Please be the Alpha…" he muttered and Richard gave him a look.
"I'm just going to spray this…" Dean nodded slowly and frowned.
"I can't smell anything anymore…" Richard grinned.
"Sent neutralizer…" we left and entered the office. I was pulled onto Oscar's Lap as Bella looked around nervously.
"Hi Danica? Is this one… Dean?" I nodded and leant to the microphone.
"Don't worry about it. I won't stand in your way if he's your mate. You both deserve it." Richard flicked a switch and looked at me.
"Neither seem happy about this… I mean look. He's…" I waved a hand.
"Just get it over with…" He nodded and pressed the first button. A defined reaction took both but it didn't look the same. Mathew growled.
"They look reluctant…" Richard nodded.
"I can already tell you… he's had the strongest reaction so far…" Oscar nodded and I felt his arms tighten around my waist.
"Good," He chuckled. Richard pressed the next button and the door opened as the fans turned on wafting their scents around the room.
"Well, that is beautiful." I could see colours flashing as a solid green covered most of the brain sections.
"They're mates… But…" Richard pointed to Dean's brain. "His human side is freaking out." I leant forward and turned on the intercom.
"What are you waiting for? Get him." I commanded and watched as the two stood up and went to each other. I turned my attention to the brain scan and watched as a cascading blanket of lights twinkled.
"That's the sparks… they release endorphins every time they touch." Richard sighed and placed his head on his hand. "So jealous…" after a little while he stood up and went to the door. "I should probably let them out before we witness… to…. Much." I nodded as Oscar carried me out the room to the hallway and made his escape with me in his arms.
Mathew's POV
I chuckled as I watched Oscar make his retreat with Danica then sighed as my phone went off. The caller ID was Derick.
"What's up?"
"That's Lisa here." I nodded and looked to Richard.
"Richard has free time now. We can get your problem… examined." I heard him growl and Lisa giggling.
"Sure, Come and get us." I nodded and hung up.
"That means I need to play the bad guy and force Lisa to come here." I stood up then watched as Bella and Dean ran in.
"Where's Danica?" they asked and I pointed.
"Oscar ran away with her already." They bolted from the room and Richard sighed.
"I'll tidy everything up for the Alpha's visit." I nodded and sauntered out of the office.
"I'll try and not take too long getting them here." I saw Richard turning off the machines as he began his work.
