Aliorah pried open a loose piece of metal. She put her shoulder behind the corner she was able to pull away from the wall and shoved it once, twice, three times, until finally the gap became wide enough to slip through. Hiytax stood nearly back-to-back with Aliorah, watching the road along the city wall to make sure no Edenytes spotted them as they attempted to sneak into Romeneth.
“Maybe this is a bad time,” Hiytax had a questioning tone in his voice.
Aliorah interrupted him before he could even begin to form whatever his question was, “Definitely the worst time,” Aliorah curtly responded as she began to wedge herself through the unreasonably tight opening.
Hiytax all but completely ignored Aliorah’s reservations and asked his question anyway, “Why haven’t we seen any animals?”
