Chapter 26: Regrets

I sat up quickly, accidentally leaning a little too closely. His gaze became heated at my proximity, and I felt the now familiar zing travel down my back. Before I could stop myself—before I could even think—I leaned forward and kissed him, feeling his soft lips mold into mine. I heard a sultry moan before realizing it was me. What was it about him? How did he have this hold over me to where I couldn't control myself whenever he was near?

I pulled away before it could devolve any further. I groaned as I rubbed my face.

"We have got to stop doing that."

"Why in the world would you say that, little mouse?" He asked, feigned innocence in his voice. I looked at him to see him staring at me blandly.

"Honestly, Ezra. Where do you see this going? Because I see this ending in disaster."
