Chapter 78: Duty

She lifted her chin. "It is my duty. And I did not report personal things about you."

"How is you going through my files any different from me having them?"

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't use your clone-like logic on me. You should not have files on me." She wanted to rail at him about telling that stranger her personal secrets, but the words wouldn't come to her lips. He stood and drew her into his arms. "As your husband, I have the right to know everything about you." He kissed her.

It took many human minutes for her processes to emerge from the fog of pleasure his kissing had induced. When they did, something exploded in her mind. Anger - hot and terrible anger. Did he think she was that easy to manipulate? That she was that easily fooled? That she was the child he called her in that report?
