A month later, she was putting on her uniform when he came to stand in the doorway of the walk-in closet. He leaned his shoulder against the doorjamb and crossed his ankle. Those jewel eyes slid over her in a way she could almost physically feel.
"I forgot to tell you we have an appointment to go to the nursery."
"What nursery, one for plants or people?"
"People. You said you wanted to see children."
She'd asked him months ago and had thought he'd changed his mind because they were both so busy. "Yes, I do. What time do we have to be there? Melissa hasn't told me today's schedule yet."
"We will go as soon as you return from the ship. Sam informed Melissa about the visit. We only got confirmation this morning."
Something in his tone alerted her. "Was there a problem?"
He shrugged. "Some of the parents were concerned about the safety of their children."
