A Battle To Rule (Part 1/3)

Boom!!!

The body of Saber connected with the neck of the Argentinosaurus, causing an apocalyptic explosion to resound throughout the landscape. Well, at least that is what one would expect after seeing two Energy Gathering Lifeforms attack each other at such incredible speeds.

But, contrary to such an expectation, Saber's body flashed across the fields at inhumane speeds, and once contacting with the Argentinosaurus's neck, Saber's body blasted through the monster's neck killing it instantly.

Its body fell lifelessly to the ground as Saber halted mid-air. Yes, though a peak level Energy Gathering Lifeform is unable to fly, they can run on air similar to how Saber was running on water, hence the reason that the Argentinosaurus was able to also run in the air when fighting Saber.

Saber descended toward the ground with elegance, his nose twitching as he smelled the blood and meat contained in the beast. He instantly knew that he'll be able to enter the Energy Maneuvering realm once he ate it, leaving him with a satisfied smirk.

"I guess that I did not fight for no reason." Saber thought while walking on top of the 50-meter long body of the Argentinosaurus. The other beasts dared not be anywhere near Saber's prey as they flew in different directions, hoping to not get on Saber's bad side.

Of course, Saber cared little for their reactions and began to bite into the meal which he so 'painstakingly' prepared. Though even before Saber was finished with half of the beast, his breakthrough began which slowed his movements, he was able to hurriedly eat the whole beast since he knew that by the time his breakthrough finished, the beast may not be there.

Why? Well after entering the peak of the Energy Gathering realm, he was instinctively aware that while breaking through to the Energy Maneuvering realm, he'll undergo a hibernation of some sort. He knew that for a whole week, he would be completely unconscious, so he instantly disappeared from his current location and use his immense speed to find a location very far from any beast.

He punched the ground and successfully made a deep hole in the ground as he entered it and then covered it up with the surrounding snow. His consciousness grew hazy over time and before long, he entered a deep sleep as a dark blue aura enveloped him and formed a cocoon-like substance around his body.

Beasts...the beasts of this landscape were warmongers and battle-crazy beings who only knew savagery. It was like this since the beginning of this crazy world, but there are times when even these monsters must come together in peace and show their respect.

There are times when these monsters lose their mad way of doing things and gain what one could call a conscious. These times are rare though, and when it does happen, these monsters, no matter where they are or what they were doing, will stop their craziness and pay respect.

At this moment, all of the monsters on this landscape were surrounding the hole which Saber created four days ago. They were all on their knees with their heads bowed to the location of the whole as an aura of suppression was being released from it.

As they were kneeling, the crowd of beasts split as a being with the legs of an average man approached Saber's location. His upper body was also that of a humanoid man, as the only difference between him and a humanoid creature like Saber, would be the lion-like head.

His face was that of a golden furred lion about 15-inches in diameter. His aura which radiated out of his body was incredible as the surrounding beasts couldn't help but quiver with his mere presence.

His Greek-God physique had a light tan to it as it shone beautifully from the light of the setting sun. He walked up to the location of Saber was currently inside a cocoon. A cocoon that could not be hidden underground since the surrounding snow had long melted, making it possible for everyone to see the cocoon which held Saber inside of it.

The lion-headed creature stood in front of the beating dark blue cocoon as he simply gazed with slight interest clear in his eyes. On the other hand, this cocoon was currently beating akin to that of a heart.

Every time it beats, an almost soundless booming sound would come from it. It would then expand before it retracted. This cycle continued for the next few hours before a change finally happened. The cocoon which now looked like glass was penetrated by a hand that came from inside of it.

A pale-looking hand that gave off a powerful aura. A hand that gave all of the beasts besides the lion a shiver up their spine as right after, the whole body of Saber made its appearance. His dark blue hair and dark blue eyes had turned even darker in color, and along with this change was a light blue aura radiated out of his naked body.

His hair had grown slightly longer and reached just below his shoulder while his cold eyes gaze towards the lion-headed beast which stood in front of him with its hands behind its back. Saber knew who or more accurately...Saber knew what this lifeform was and he then said.

"You have come here to fight me simply to prove that you are the true ruler of this land?" Saber asked the beast with an indifferent and slightly bored voice and surprisingly...

Shockingly, Saber watched on as the lion-headed beast nodded its head. Feeling the strength coursing through him, and the feeling of raw power, Saber couldn't help but look towards his outstretched hand and nod. His actions were quite infuriating toward a certain lion-head who thought Saber was ignoring him.

Saber on the other hand couldn't believe that with just one point in power raised, his strength would face such a dramatic increase. He then once again shifted his gaze toward the lion-head beast in front of him.

"Well, it seems that when beasts reach the Energy Maneuvering rank, they gain some semblance of intelligence, yet, you are unable to use that intelligence to realize that I am not just your average Level 1 Energy Maneuvering lifeform." Saber said as he began walking toward the humanoid beast.

His height again increased to 6,4 as he had a feeling that it would stay there for the rest of eternity. Saber looked down into the prideful eyes of the beast as he couldn't help but smirk. It seemed that he would get the perfect opponent to test his current limits.

But, even now he still ignored the humanoid lion and instead shifted his attention to the surrounding beasts. His smile was rather alluring and was intensified by the fact that the moonlight was shining onto his skin.

His body slightly leaned forward, his voice once again entered the lion-like ears of the beast as he seemingly disappeared from his position.

"I hope you can keep up!" Like a fading whisper, Saber's voice entered the monster's ears as the monster's face contorted into a frown as he also disappeared from his position.

The afterimages of Saber and the humanoid lion were seen all over the landscape, as a multitude of beasts were mysteriously killed. They weren't killed like the usual way, they could be either standing, running, or even kneeling and still facing Saber's previous breakthrough location, but at an abrupt time, their heads would mysteriously disappear!

As blood spurted out of their necks, their bodies lifelessly fell to the ground!!
