The Outer Sect

Thud!

The sound of a body dropping to the floor was heard as Saber stood with blood all over his clothes. And just as he was about to take them off and clean them with some water, the blood disappeared as if it was never there in the first place.

On the floor with missing heads were the bodies of the dozen bandits and all of the women who all had shock and fear written on their faces. Saber on the other hand had a bright smile as his canines showed how happy he was. In front of him was a massive gathering of Spirit Stones, which were all from the space ring of the head bandit.

He sat down in a meditative position and grabbed a handful of Spirit Stones before closing his eyes.

"Hehe, by the time I reenter the external section, it would be time to enter the Outer Sect!" Saber's voice resounded inside the hall with obvious excitement.

.

.

.

At this moment, in front of Saber was a counter with a shocked old man who was watching the heads of a dozen bandits.

"Y-you did this?" He asked, with a voice filled with shock and disbelief. Even though he was here for a long time doing the job of an elder, he hadn't expected a little brat who had now entered the external section to kill a dozen bandits who were all at the very least Mid-Level Spirit Connection cultivators.

"Hmm, old man, if I did not do it...then I am unsure who did?!" Saber replied with a shocked look as if he had simply found the bodies of the bandits without actually doing anything. This greatly angered the old man as he could only grumble under his breath.

"Youths these days...they sure are rude!" Thereafter, he took out a token and placed it in front of Saber's chest. Even though Saber had an idea of what he was about to do, he did not mind since he wanted to enter the Outer Sect immediately.

And with a flash of light, two words floated into the mind of the old man that read.

"Spirit Foundation"

This left the old man even more shocked as he couldn't believe someone who had now entered the external section had reached the level of a beginner Outer Sect disciple. One must know that Sage cultivation was incredibly slow cultivation where 20 years may not be enough to enter the Spirit Foundation realm.

Knowing that the brat in front of him had already reached the Spirit Foundation realm and was legible to enter the Outer Sect even before the tournament in two months, he simply took out two items which were a blue token with an intricate design on it and a space ring which most probably held the Spirit Stones and then handed it toward Saber. On the other hand, Saber took out the previous token that the old man downstairs had given him and gave it to the elder across the counter from him.

"Little brat, there was another genius who had entered the Outer Sect yesterday. I think you know her since she also came with you and entered the external section two weeks ago!" The old man said with a smile on his face while watching Saber approach the stairs. Saber who heard this only released a smile since he found it interesting that someone had surpassed him.

'Hehe, I wonder what secrets is she hiding?!' Saber thought with a sadistic smirk appearing on his face while going down the stairs. He then approached the elder who could see his aura and showed him the blue token. The elder adorned a surprised expression for only a moment before he calmed down and gestured for Saber to follow him.

Saber was momentarily confused, but seeing the elder open a door that was behind the counter, Saber jumped over the counter and headed inside of that door. Following the elder, Saber arrived at a teleportation formation that was in an open hall that had several disciples with gems in the shape of a sword on their foreheads guarding its place. They all had a strength that was comparable to the Outer Sect elder who brought Saber to the Sect. Saber instantly knew that they had to be top Outer Sect disciples.

The teleportation formation was very similar to an altar. It was a circular stone platform with strange patterns engraved on it. Stone pillars were erected in all directions, and there were many irregular dents on them, which were especially used to insert spirit stones. It was rather different than the one used by the Outer Sect elder to teleport them to the external section of the Sect.

The outer sect disciples then began placing spirit stones in the dents while the elder began talking to Saber and explaining the workings of the Outer Sect.

"The Outer Sect is in a completely different location from here and on the other side of the continent. Of course, external disciples do not qualify even as cannon fodder so the sect did not bother to place any important items here besides this teleportation formation which can easily be destroyed if ever the external section was attacked."

His voice was rather neutral even when speaking of such things, leaving Saber a little angry that he was regarded as not even cannon fodder. But, he knew that he could not yet destroy this world since even his other half had warned him to not do so. He instead listened to the old man who continued with his speech.

"There are more than 4,000 disciples in the Outer Sect and there is also a tournament to enter the Inner Sect which takes place annually. Of course, some geniuses could do what you are now doing and simply reach the Domain Lord realm. But, I who was a genius and surpassed the Golden Core rank when only forty, have been stuck in the Nascent Soul rank for all 2,500 years of my life.

The chance of me reaching the Domain Lord realm is non-existent since my lifespan will run out in the next 400 years. What I'm trying to say is, it is better to participate in the competition since the winner along with nine others can gain a Domain Lord pill which will guarantee them reaching the Domain Lord realm."

The old man said in nostalgia while Saber simply stared at him as if he was a fool.

Who was Saber?

A lifeform who was moving at an incredibly slow speed through Sage realms because his soul was split in two.

A lifeform who was destined for greatness, not some half-baked genius that would be forgotten in a few years!!

But, Saber calmed himself and ignored the old man as he stepped onto the teleportation platform and sent waves toward the old man who got shivers from the kind and polite smile Saber sent in his direction.

With a flash of bright light, Saber once again entered the dark space which he sees only when teleporting, and before he could register what he had seen, he was already standing in a different location.

It was a majestic sight of floating houses and many cultivators flying through the skies while standing on swords. They were all at a level of elegance that non in the external section even compared to.

Surveying his surroundings, Saber noticed an elderly-looking man that was standing outside of the platform and gazed at him as if trying to peer into Saber's secrets.

"Follow me!" He said, before walking off.
