"Oh, they are right here with us. You guys are looking in their direction right now." Saber said with an evil smirk on his face. A smirk that gave not only Hale but also the always calm Jayden a feeling of dread.
Seeing their expressions, Saber's smile couldn't help but grow even wider. His voice then once again rang out in Hale's and Jayden's ears.
"Eldest disciple Jayden, did you know that when I ate Alissa, her expression of shock, fear, and disbelief, was oddly similar to the face your mother had when she was also killed by those members of the Demonic Sect!"
Saber said. Striking a nerve that no one dared touch. A nerve that caused Jayden to lose hold of his emotions, as he was filled with wrath.
Not only that, but his body also brimmed with power. A power way more intense than Saber's own ever was!
A power that even someone like Saber needed to be serious facing, otherwise it might end in tragedy for him.
Well, at least that was what one would expect but, after ridding himself of the mortal sin known as arrogance, Saber's actions and intentions became a lot more unpredictable.
Unexpectedly, a smile formed on his face when he saw the body of Jayden heading toward his location with insane speed. A body that brimmed with power leagues above his own.
With unreal speed, and before anyone could even react, Jayden's longsword which was in his right hand slashed toward Saber's neck!
Swoosh!
The sound of Jayden's longsword whistling through the air was heard. But, unlike what he expected to hear, the sound of his sword slicing a piece of meat never came.
He watched on with a shocked face as his longsword mysteriously fazed through Saber's neck as he watched on with even more shock as Saber's body slowly became particles.
Boom!
Behind the previous location of Saber's body, a beam of light that exited Jayden's sword when he slashed toward Saber's neck then went on to impact the wall, causing an extremely loud explosion.
An explosion that served as a wake-up call for Jayden as he immediately regained his cool and then realization dawned on him as his expression immediately turned into a frown.
And, as if to confirm what he was thinking, Saber's voice then resounded in his ears, causing Jayden to dart his gaze to behind him, and more precisely, toward Hale's previous location.
"Hmm, it seems that you do not want this junior brother of yours to live." Saber said.
His sentence caused Jayden's face to turn even more ashen as Hale, who was currently in the grip of Saber, seemed to be suffocating.
"Please, just stop. There isn't any reason for you to do what you're doing." Jayden said. Analyzing the situation, it was better to save at least one person, so he decided to place his pride on the ground and stoop low down to beg Saber to release Hale from his grip.
Kekeke!
An evil smirk formed on Saber's face as he started laughing wickedly. His eyes shone with a dangerous light as his grip on Hale seemed to be getting tighter by the second.
"No reason? It seems that you have completely gone in the wrong direction here...It matters not if I have a reason or not." Saber said.
He then closed his eyes and nodded his head before he continued.
"What you have to realize is that you are weak and useless right now. At this moment in time, you and your mother are the same. Both of you are useless pieces of crap completely hopeless to change your faith or the faith of the people around you!"
Saber's voice echoed throughout the room. Jayden's eyes immediately became bloodshot as his patience was already on its last threads.
But, hearing the taunts of Saber, especially about his dead mother who was abused by those Demonic people, Jayden couldn't control his anger and dashed toward Saber with his sword in his hand.
Even though this endangered Hale, he was at this moment lost in anger. But, just as he was 4 meters away from Saber, he watched on with shock as Saber threw Hale's body toward him with incredible power.
It was enough to power to kill Hale if Jayden did not slow down. Why? Well, that's because if Hale's body impacted with Jayden's boy at this current speed, it would be like one throwing an egg with all of his strength against a brick wall.
The egg was bound to be obliterated!
Knowing this, Jayden instantly came out of his crazed state once more and cushioned the impact for Hale as much as he could. He spread his hands wide as he took Hale into his chest and simultaneously jumped back to lessen the momentum.
Bam!
His back contacted the wall causing a loud explosion but he didn't bother about his current state and instead worriedly looked toward the only one of his juniors that he could save. But, what he saw left him in a stupor as shock, fear, and disbelief appeared on his face.
Jayden watched on helplessly as Hale's skin began peeling off by itself. Before he could even process what was happening to Hale though...
Puchi!
The sound of a sword penetrating flesh was heard as Jayden watched down in horror as Hale seemingly pierced his chest with a sword. A sword that somehow appeared in Hale's hands without Jayden even realizing.
"H-how?!"
He weakly uttered. But, as a few moments passed, one can see the figure of Hale, somehow turning into Saber as the Saber who stood on the other side of the room began disappearing into particles.
With this scene, Jayden was finally able to piece two and two together as he then asked in a barely audible voice.
"W-where...is...H-Hale?"
His broken sentences ranged in Saber's ears. A Saber who was still in the embrace of Jayden as he had a bright smile on his face. A smile that was capable of sending any female creature nosebleeds, but was corrupted by the splatter of blood that painted across his face.
Saber then pointed toward the end of the room where for once Jayden felt as if he was able to properly see. What he saw was the dead body of Hale. His pale skin and still open but now dull and lifeless eyes, making it obvious that he was dead.
The body of Jayden quickly lost its vitality and began shaking as he felt an intense rage.
He felt as if he had failed his master.
He felt as if he had failed his juniors.
He felt as if he had failed his mother who he had already previously failed.
But, most importantly, he felt as if he failed himself and broken the promise that he made after his mother's death. The promise to always protect who he can in the face of evil.
His face filled with regret and now despair brought a new feeling to Saber. A feeling that caused his grin to widen even more.
Gazing at the two dead bodies in the room, Saber couldn't help but stand to his feet while muttering.
"Ahh, the feeling of all of your plans being successful is wonderful!"
"Yes, it truly was a wonderful show."
Suddenly, a calm and emotionless voice resounded from all corners of the room, startling Saber greatly. The voice seemed to have come from all around Saber, as thereafter, Saber felt a tap on his shoulder!
