The Offer, Breaking Past The Limits

"Hmm... Such an important treasure that can cause even Golden Immortals to harm their own. No wonder you wouldn't want any Golden Immortals to know of this but..." Pausing right here, Oblivion moved his attention away from the cup of tea, he then made eye contact with the pair of scarlet eyes of the City Lord and asked.

"You still haven't mentioned the reason why I should even bother placing my life at risk to simply allow you to acquire something that will benefit only you?!!!" And as his words entered the City Lord's ears, a wide grin formed on his face as he replied.

"Fair enough." The City Lord said. "I'll give you a chance at life... How about that?"

THRUM!

Oblivion's eyes grew cold as the servants in his surroundings felt as if someone grabbed their throats and began stifling them. Seeing the struggle on their faces, a dark light flashed in the eyes of the City Lord as right after, all the servants in the room mysteriously disappeared.

"Hehe, it seems you misunderstood something I didn't threaten you..." He said while gazing into the unnaturally black eyes of Oblivion. "When the Heavenly Mystic Domain closes, all entities inside would be teleported back to where they came from, so you'll be forced to re-enter that small little Milky Way Galaxy where those retched Demons would soon attack!!"

THRUM!!

Oblivion's thoughts churned. This City Lord... How did he know about the Demons? The figure sitting in a seiza position understood Oblivion's possible confusion as he said.

"Many Galaxies under the rule of us Humans have been destroyed by the Demons over time... Of course, the truly powerful and important galaxies would remain unharmed as those Demons wouldn't dare to attack them since it will start a war on Cosmic scaling but... Milky Way Galaxy isn't such a powerful galaxy."

He continued with a saddened expression. "It is merely just another one of those galaxies under the rule of use Humans. It's just another galaxy that if destroyed wouldn't affect the true power of the Human race. It is simply a galaxy that doesn't even have a Golden Immortal in it." And as he made his point, the sad expression disappeared as he said.

"But, you! You don't need to be destroyed along with that galaxy. Even after being sent to Milky Way Galaxy by the will of this Domain, there is a way for you to survive and even enter a much bigger and better galaxy filled with many more opportunities... I, Benjamin, of the Diamond family swear to the Cosmic Will to give you a safe way out of extermination by those Demons!!"

THRUM!!!

As he said those words, in the skies outside the City Lord's Mansion, loud thunderous noise entered the ears of everyone present as lightning crackled. A golden light then entered the forehead of the City Lord as Oblivion watched the show secretly shocked.

"Coming from a small galaxy, I'm sure you're unaware of this but it is the only way that we Human cultivators can trust one another. Once we swear to the Cosmic Will, no matter how powerful one is, if they were to go back on their words, both body and soul will be extinguished and they wouldn't even get a chance at entering either Heaven or Hell."

Hearing his words, Oblivion's eyes lit up. If he could have such power to obliterate whoever he wanted, wouldn't his goal be soo much easier?

Sigh!

"Okay, I'll help with your hunt but first... Tell me, how many Profound Immortals and Pseudo Golden Immortals will there be..?" Oblivion questioned. And not seeing anything wrong with his question, the City Lord replied...

"As of now, including you, there are ninety-seven Profound Immortals and, including me, there are Seven Pseudo Golden Immortals." While he said that, the City Lord thought.

'Hmm, this brat probably wants to know the chances of his survival. Well, even I wouldn't want to enter the Inner Region of the Heavenly Mystic Domain unless there is a substantial amount of Pseudo Golden Immortals with me.'

"But, I do hope to increase the numbers so we weren't be leaving any time soon..."

...

Two months later, Oblivion still waited for the City Lord's summons again. Besides the incident with an annoying woman in a tea shop, Oblivion went on a few more B+ rank missions giving his Sword some more B+ rank Energy Gathering Pills.

It was only after he realized that his Sword had stopped benefitting from these B+ rank pills that he stopped going on those missions.

Now, he had two options, which were to either join a group that had accepted an A-rank mission or redo the trial for Adventures and then become an S-class Adventurer...

Oblivion simply decided to relax and wait for the City Lord's summon instead. During this time, he mostly stayed in a luxurious room in an Inn or experience the pleasures of this city.

He had meditated at night and tried to gain some insight into his element which failed.

At day, he'll visit different places similarly to how he came to this tea shop. He had bought himself multiple more masks and visited a brothel to experience the so-called seggs which was expectedly boring.

Unaware of whether he lacked substantial emotions such as lust or if it had to do with the thing called 'Love' Oblivion decided to forget about it. What did surprise him though, was that his body did function like that of a pure-blooded human with the only exception being white-colored blood.

Anyway, right now, he was once more meditating on top of his bed with a calm expression. After all the experiences, he felt himself becoming a lot calmer. He was already much calmer after his rebirth of sorts but now, he was a few levels higher.

As time ticked away, Oblivion suddenly opened his eyes and as the moon shone through the window, it was possible to see the pair of unnaturally black large pupils.

WAA!

Ding Ding!!

After a bright light lit up the room, a small bell-like item entered Oblivion's palm releasing an annoying noise. Crushing it, Oblivion smirked while gazing at the moon outside.

"It seems its time. Hehe, unlucky fellows, I hope you're prepared to enter the loving embrace of nothingness once again..." While saying so, Oblivion's figure disappeared from the room.

...

...

Puchi!!!

As her spear penetrated the heart region of this red-colored Humanoid, a wide grin was ever present on her exquisitely defined face. Even as the blood of the humanoid entity splattered on her face, she remained unbothered and felt even more excitement.

"So, are you planning to exterminate all the beings on this floor?" Adrianna questioned while gazing at Saber who had placed his hands on the body of the five-meter humanoid. Before long, the body which was previously bulky and filled with muscles had shockingly turned into a mummy as if all its vitality was sucked dry.

Saber's red eyes shone brilliantly as this happened. He could feel not only his soul strengthened but also his body as his cultivation finally began breaking past the limits.

"Of course not..." Saber replied in a low but dark tone. "I simply wanted to enter the Profound Immortal realm before entering the Fourth Floor. After all, we don't know how strong those people in there are so it's best to gain as much strength as possible when on a floor as safe as this one for us."

He said with his eyes closed and already sitting in a meditative position. He was ready to break through at the moment as Adrianna retreated to give him space for his upcoming tribulation.
