I am the girl no one wanted.
I am the girl who begged for table scraps after a meal.
I am the girl who lost all she cared for. My mother left me, my father hated me, my sister deserted me and still I stood.
I am the girl who came from nothing, who fought and clawed her way upwards. I am the girl who loved where she found love worthy. I have friends. I have family. I do not have to suffer to be loved. I do not have to be alone.
I am the girl who will burn all that tries to hurt those who are mine.
The creature before me backs up from my heat. It is scared of heat. It has been burned before. All my sympathy for it has burned away with the flames that now consume me. I take my hand and with a thought I raise a pillar of fire out of the ground and consume the creature from its belly to the top of its head.
